I will be very surprised if we aren't in the Top 7 for Vukosa.
Her proximity to UConn doesnt help us.

I was thinking the same thing. I beleive our best chance is getting her to Austin/on the Forty for a visit. Her proximity to UConn doesnt help us.
Do you have a link to the article(s)?Chavez had 44 points in second round of playoffs on Thursday. Monterey plays Ft Worth Brewer on Tuesday night February 18 at 6 pm. Articles are listing the same destination culprits. Culprits that Horns have already defeated this year.

Since we have a bye week, it would not surprise me if Vic & Co were at the Monterey game last night watching Chavez.Lubbock Monterey won tonight 76-40. No box score but I’ll bet Chavez got her 35-40 + points.
I just saw on ESPN that she scored 50 last night
And oh my, they're 14-13.

BREAKING NEWS! That conference record sure looked good yesterday……3-12 now after loss to Cincinnati last night. On a roll. I feel a little bad piling on to Raider woes…..but they make it so easy. Seven losses in a row……what a streak.Hold on. Not so fast my friend. They are 3-11 in Conference. All they need is Chavez.
I mean, come on—they did lose their all-everything PG in the transfer portal after last season.BREAKING NEWS! Don't know anything about her or her family, but I can envision a career at TT that includes NIL$, school records, maybe some national records, no conf championships, a win or 2 in the tournament and probably some pro activity - a Jackie Stiles type with a lovely life on the Plains. Of course, being totally biased, I also see her on an SEC and national championship team, Longhorn record holder, pro star, jersey hanging in Moody, maybe an Olympian ... seems to be more possibilities at Texas, but none of us can predict.
TT donor has spent boatloads of money on football and $1million for softball pitcher - whom we beat last week. They can buy more players and a new coach, if necessary.

My instinct says she stays home and becomes a hometown hero. Again, I'm betting that if Tech found $1M for a softball player from Kansas (via Stanford), they'll find it (and then some) for their local superstar.I don't think for one minute that Chavez will pick Texas. Would love to eat turkey, but she'll be in for the money and for a college which will give her free reign with her scoring game.
If not Texas honestly I hope she goes to UCLA. Cori Close is not my favorite coach by any means but it’s a great stage for Chavez to shine. I just think Texas is a better one and the Coach is way better.
Let’s face it, Gerlich is probably out of there if she can’t land Chavez. Might be the best thing to happen to the Lady Raiders if they finally make a smart hire to replace her.
Maybe so but there was an article in USA Today about her dropping 50 in a playoff game this week that still listed UCLA as one of her favorites. There was a tweet a couple of weeks ago that UCLA is no longer under consideration.

Donnie Moore. Also Lubbock Monterey, class of ‘73. Had a long MLB career and a tragic death. But in retrospect, she is more coveted.Who is the last player from Lubbock in any sport who was so highly coveted?
