2025 Recruiting - Football

Didn't you used to be? So, guessing $5/month is big money up north there...
I was a sponsor for a few years and I'm sure my dear old dad was rolling over in his grave. I had SIGNIFICANT disagreements with a few @ west mall and retracted for my sanity, blood pressure, etc. Ending the sponsorship was a matter of principle. Please know that I spend the extra $5 each month on beef to honor the longhorns. :hookem:

Maybe we should call it a cover charge. I mean, if you were down here in Austin and wanted to hit the town, you might pay one. The entertainment here is top shelf, right?

As for the blood pressure; I get it. I wish we could be calmer. I'm as bad as anyone else. I'm trying to keep my cool about things. In the end, it does mean we care about big picture items and the future of our country. Some things though have hard lines drawn and for some reason, the human mind sees things one way in some people and the other way for others. It's a combo of our life's experience, the development of empathy and our philosophy about the purpose of government and law and order. And when we see things drifting in the wrong direction, we get worked up.

But what is the wrong direction and as old Pontius Pilate said:

"What is truth?"

“You can’t handle the truth…!!”

Watched the North Crowley/Westlake game last night and NC has some amazing athletes. Of note Jonathan Cunningham played well, but will need to put on 20-25 pounds to compete effectively at the next level. Look to him being redshirted next year. Also John Turrentine, NC's left tackle who is leaning very hard to the Horns (2026), played well (both power and footwork) and his frame can easily add 20-30 pounds. No fat on this specimen with an amazingly long wing span. We definitely need to sign him.

I agree about the West Mall. I avoid it for the sake of my cardiovascular health

Per IT, ATH Michael Terry III has joined the team for practice.

He is the second 2025 signee to do so after DE Lance Jackson.

Just trying to figure out what position he would be best at.
If he gains enough weight he would b an awesome tight end. He would run circles around linebackers trying to cover him. A DC's nightmare. YAC would be tremendous.
OTOH, he would be a great LB also. He is just about there weight wise.
But he could also b a RB. He's got speed, moves, size to push a pile and block. The QB would b glad to have him in the backfield.
Very versatile guy.
Yep, happy he is a longhorn

Reminds me of Michael Irvin.

IT reporting Texas has been in communication with Utah DT Keanu Tanuvasa, who entered the portal today.

Good.

Now we need 3 big Upperclassman DTs from the portal.

We're losing a lot to graduation, and now that Sydir Mitchell is going away, we're thinner in that position.

based on his stay, go, stay, go attitude this is probably the best decision for Mitchell....he could have been a good one at UT!
My opinion is that sydir is picking the wrong time to leave since we are now thin at that position.
But oh well. I am sure we will find others.

We don't know the whole story on kids in the transfer portal. Sometimes we perceive potential, but the guys who allocate playing time have evaluated and prefer others.
