2025 Recruiting - Football

Hamilton at OTF posted his regular "Yes, No, or Maybe" article today for Texas' 2025 class.

He has DE Javion Hilson and CB Graceson Littleton in the "yes" category to end up in the class.

OL Michael Fasusi was in the "maybe" category with Oklahoma looking at a 5-7 season, missing a bowl and Venables potentially making wholesale staff changes.

OTF had an update on DT Kevin Wynn of Greensboro, GA...

- staff is attempting to get him and his father back to Austin for the Kentucky game next weekend

- his Top 3 consists of FSU, South Carolina and Texas, and he was in Columbia to see South Carolina beat A&M

- South Carolina offered his best friend, and high school teammate, recently

- Georgia could be a compromise school for his family, but they aren't in that top group

- source would be surprised if he picked Texas without another visit to campus, but doesn't rule it out due to his relationship with Coach Baker

At this point its a longshot. But it looks like the staff and Dakorien Moore have been in contact.
We'll see if it goes anywhere.

i keep saying this, and I know we only have so much NIL to go around for the top guys...

but i don't like that 5 of the top 6 guys in Texas are going out of state. i hope we can turn a couple.

I presume you are looking at the On3 page. We were in on several of them prior to commitment and could still change on 2 of those who committed elsewhere. On the 247 page, we have several of the top 6. Sark is a very good recruiter and I also presume he knows what he wants in the locker room. I am greedy so I want all the top kids at Texas but understand some of these schools will throw crazy dollars at them (Oregon and Ohio State). Cant blame a kid for chasing the money which is really altering the college sport for the worse. Has to be a way to make this more controlled and fair to each team.

I've been a recruiting geek since the mid 70's long before the services became prominent. Anyone who pays attention understands that you never really know how well a kid will perform until he gets under the lights. Sark's approach places some emphasis on the player's character and whether they will "fit". As a result there will be many 5 star athletes which the fans desperately want, yet Sark knows they will never work in our system and culture.

Its hard to lose an in state 5 star, but if we have the right coaches in place we can develop the 3 stars, many of whom will end up out playing the 5 stars. As I recall a guy named Colt McCoy was a 3 star from Jim Ned High School and he turned out pretty good.

Morre was a gut punch. But we recovered nicely wirh two 5* WR's.
And it seems the door may not be closed on him.

As mentioned several times. Sanchez is from Ohio and has family in Columbus. He was always a longshot.

Russell ?. We have our qb already.

We have Jonah Williams.

Fasusi. Still may be in the picture. Issue with him is not NIL. It"s where he can get on the field the fastest.

Haywood. Same issus as Sanchez. He has beem committed to bama since the 9th grade it seems.

There are still names out the that have yet to be mentioned.

KEVIN WYNN update from Gerry:

Source tellls him this is a Texas-South Carolina-Florida State battle. USC trying to get back in this.

Said it's possible he could flip to Texas without a visit though Texas is trying to get him and his family back on campus asap.

He said Wynn really likes Baker and how the Horns are trending up.

Burton at OTF thinks Texas is now ahead for LB Kellen Wiley, Jr. of Seffner, FL.

He still has an official visit to Miami to go.

Because I have no life outside of Texas football, I watch way too much content on YouTube.

I was surprised to hear Dakorien Moore‘s name mentioned today. If he is rethinking his decision — the operative word being “if” — my question would be, does Sark want him. I’m wondering about culture.

Fasusi is interesting because of the uncertainty at OUSux. He has to be rethinking… What I heard this morning was that if he is rethinking, it might be between Texas and the Aggies.

The staff is in contact with Moore. So one would think Sark is all in.
Yes the gags have entered the picture for Fasusi.

yeah, i don't disagree with that. Just sharing my feelings on here. lol

Update on S Zelus Hicks of Carrollton, GA since he's reclassified to 2025...

OTF mentioned he's been on trips to Georgia Tech and Tennessee the past two weekends.

He will be at Florida this weekend, and then he'll take his official visit to Texas for the Kentucky game.

Texas will be his last visit, and then he'll sign in December.

Quotes from Littleton after committing to Texas (On3):

“I committed to Texas and I made the final decision last night,” Littleton told On3. “I chose Texas because of their stability right now along with their culture. “Their defensive scheme makes them a great fit for me too. I think over the last four years, they’ve only continued to grow and they continue to bring in great players. I feel like I could be developed there as well.”

“It was nice in Austin,”
Littleton told On3. “I’ve never been there before, so I didn’t exactly know how it would be. I didn’t realize that the facility was in the downtown area. The culture was good. It was nice to get around some of the current players and hear their views on the program."

“Some highlights were taking part in the player meetings, talking with some of the players, being at the game, and going to dinner with my family and staff.”

“They have a plan for me. They think I fit their defensive scheme and can be a ball player in the secondary. Texas has been recruiting me heavy since they offered and the reasons Texas is a contender for me and got me on that visit was because of the defensive scheme and success of the program.”

First OU, now aggy? I truly wish Fasusi wanted to be a Horn, but that does not appear to be the case. Better to invest our time/effort/resources elsewhere on prospects of mutual interest. Same with DKM.

You stay on this type of talant till the end . Have you forgotten that Banks was committed to Oregon intil Sark flipped him only a few days before signing day ?

Oh in the meantime while pursuing these 2 Sark snags the #9 CB in this cycle.
