2023 Texas Rangers

We should be able to beat the Snakes. We have a deeper rotation (especially if Scherzer returns to form) and a significantly better offense. Their only advantage is in the bullpen, and it isn't a big one. We should beat them in 5.

After checking their baseball-reference.com page I'm concerned. They have a starter that went 3-9, beat the Phillies twice with help from that bullpen of theirs. If we don't get up early, with leclerc getting lit up in close games, the Rangers will have a hard time

Their overall staff is what concerns me. Their relief staff is head and shoulders above Texas'.

Chasing the AZ starters early and depleting their bullpen will be the key for the Rangers.

Just got home from game one and I am speechless. The sound in Globe Life when Seager hit that bomb in the bottom of the ninth was deafening and then the volume went up even more in the bottom of the eleventh as 42 thousand people willed that ball over the right field fence. Its just one game and this could still be a very long series but wow tonight was an incredible start.

Well, last night was certainly not what I hoped for after what happened in game one. The Rangers just don’t seem to have any kind of home-field advantage but they’re undefeated on the road this post season and now we play three in Arizona with the series tied at one. Hopefully Scherzer can step up in game three..

Went to WS G2 and that was my first game to attend at Globe Life Field. I know a dome was necessary due to the heat of summmer in TX, but not sure that I like the new stadium. Outside looks like an aircraft hangar had a baby with a barndominium. Very choppy and disjointed design. Inside is nice except for those awful suites at ground level behind home plate. Maybe I'm old, but the gameday experience seemed so contrived and pretty lame. Of course, my perception probably didn't benefit from the turd of a game the Rangers layed.

For as bad as Texas has been at home this post season, they were fantastic at Globe Life during the regular season. Who knows why things ebb and flow the way they do when its playoff time. Rangers need a big outing tonight from Scherzer in game 3 and it sure would be nice if Semien and Taveras would wake up at the plate in a series that right now is anyone's for the taking.

The objective for the Rangers - win two games in Phoenix. Then come back to Arlington with two chances to win one more game. IMO, Game 4 becomes critical - neither team has a concrete plan for pitching in that game, and that should lead to a higher score. If so, the Rangers have to get the bats awake and put up some big numbers.

Before I saw a game there, I heard the same thing you're posting. Bargain basement park.

After going to 2 game this summer I liked it. You don't have to go all jerryworld to enjoy a ballgame.

Then again my favorite 2 parks I've been to are Comiskey Park (original) and Turnpike stadium, later to be named Arlington Stadium

Perhaps my description was unclear, I don't think it's a "bargain basement park", I just don't care for the aesthetics. A shame they couldn't figure out a way to economically dome the existing Ballpark at Arlington.

Rangers win tonight means either. They are coming home with a World Series Title or there will be a game six back in Arlington. I have definitely come around on the new indoor ball park and I’m absolutely convinced that many of the players the Rangers got would not be on this roster if they were playing outside in August in Arlington.

Did you catch the TV guys complaining about their location at Globe Life last night? At one point they said they liked to be able to see the came "close-up" unlike what they had in Arlington.

Was it the Fox guys or MLB TV group. Both are broadcasting the game (nationally we get fox)

Simien definitely doesn't play 162 without the roof. Everyone used to wear down here in the heat

Win number 102 tonight for the Rangers means they just need one more win to glory, one more win to exorcise the demons of 2011, one more win to immortality for this team that has so overachieved we may have to retire that word from our Ranger vocabulary because one more win and this team sits atop the mountain and are forever Ranger legends. ONE MORE FREAKING WIN.

Usually after the last World Series game we usually say, "... Well pitchers and catchers report in 3 1/2 months." so not to jinx 2024, pitchers and catchers report in 3 1/2 months.

So many thoughts went through my head as the Rangers scored four in the top of the ninth and then had a drama free bottom of the ninth to win a world series championship 60 something years in the making. This season has been such a roller coaster that started with me just hoping they could be a .500 team then as the season got going and seeing the talent to hoping they could be a playoff team. Throughout the season we kept watching them be hit by injury seemingly every single time they got momentum but they persevered Then there was the pain of losing the division on the last day but the amazing run through the wild card and division series. Of course facing the dreaded Astros, the best team in baseball the last seven years for a pennant was another roller coaster all its own including winning the first two followed by the Arlington collapse and the gut punch that was game five against Houston. But then the Rangers post season magic kicked back in and two straight wins in Houston put the Rangers into a most improbable World series berth. It was a magical game one of the World Series but the game two blowout had all of us on edge. The rangers went to Phoenix and the odds just said they couldnt keep that road win streak going much longer but dang if they didnt go win all three, all three in different fashion and bring home the championship to DFW.

2011 is finally not living rent free in my head as a Ranger fan.

Thank you to all my fellow fanatics for this incredible journey as documented in this thread. Flags fly forever and this flag will fly highest of all

Listening to Nadel's call of the final out, which was replayed several times on the 105.3 post game, was really cool. I remember him calling the dallas Blackhawks games in the late 70s, and the fw Texans for a year thinking this guy is something special as a play by play guy. Paying homage to Mark Holtz, saying he wished mark could see this day was a nice touch

Sandler and Nadel were very emotional. Us long time ranger fans knew exactly how they felt

I'll admit it. I believed in the August curse. Here we were in an air conditioned stadium and we still bent over for everyone. Couldn't stop the injuries. Etc.

October was awesome!
