2023 Texas Rangers

Whew, Heaney gets 3 outs!

I don't like these nail biters! :yikes:

Need some insurance runs!!!

Seattle bullpen should be tired after Astros series!!!

Hi, WM - sorry to be late. Rangers now in top of the 9th, leading 2-1. I really would like an insurance run or two. One out, nobody on base, Lowe batting.

Damn, Henandez pitches well, got 2 outs but gives up a hit.

3-2 Mariners B 9th wins it for Seattle. :idk:

Walk off blown lead. This Ranger team is so much better than it has been for half a decade plus but all year the bullpen has been a hole. Still just need one win to be in the playoffs and two to clinch the west out of these last three (assuming no help from Arizona).

LETS GO RANGERS!:texasflag:

Going into Friday's games:

Texas: Lose all 3 = .549
Lose 2 = .556
Lose 1 = .562
Win all 3 = .568

Houston: Lose all 3 = .537
Lose 2 = .543
Lose 1 = .549
Win all 3 = .556

Seattle: Lose all 3 = .531
Lose 2 = .537
Lose 1 = .543
Win all 3 = .549

One Texas win eliminates Seattle; Two Texas wins ties Houston if Houston sweeps the snakes.

The best record Toronto can produce is .562.

So, Seattle, the one who had the best chance of getting into the playoffs with 10 games remaining, can be eliminated with one Texas win. A Houston sweep with one Texas win produces a tie (I am too lazy to look up the series records). In that case, the winner of the season series gets the Division. If Texas wins the division Houston will be the 3rd WC assuming Toronto wins one game. If Houston wins the division, Texas is all but assured of the 3rd WC with Toronto taking the 2nd WC.

Friday night - Eovaldi (12-4) starts vs. Bryan Woo (4-5)

Sat. night Gray (8-8) starts vs. Luis Castillo (14-8)

All hands on deck - do whatever it takes games!

Evo starts tonight vs Woo (4-5, 4.39 ERA)

Concerned doesn't even cover what I feel about the next 3 games. If Gray is injured or even sore, we're looking at going balls out just to get that one win

All that is likely needed is one Texas victory - IMO, it's highly unlikely Houston can sweep in Arizona. Side note - it was a low-risk trade to get Chapman as a short-term bullpen fix for this season, but it appears he's given the game of baseball all he's got - no future is signing him for next year.

Chapman saved this team in August. Without him we'd probably be in Seattle's position in the standings. After 1 poor outing in the last few , I'm not ready to turn my back on the possibility of bringing him back for next season.

I agree. He is a set-up guy not a closer so using him as both has drained him. Sign the best closer you can in the off-season and hopefully Chapman will come back to life.

Strangely enough there are scenarios where Texas loses the next three and still wins the west or still gets a WC so everything is still on the table.

0-0 but Woo has put men on base and thrown 49 pitches in 2 innings. We will tire him and we will get some runs and or we get into their tired bullpen!
