2023 Texas Rangers

Guilty as charged, WM. I give up - I'm going to bed. I have a very important meeting at the first tee tomorrow morning.

Golf is a priority for me too! Hit 'em long and straight HHD!

I'm playing this Sat. First time in many many weeks due temps like the surface of the sun on recent Saturdays! o_O

Good news postgame: Seager hit by a pitch on the hand /wrist. Xray said not broken, only a contusion (bruise). So I suspect he will be back tomorrow night for a very important game.

Hope some of you saw gutty Jankowski diving catch effort into the right field stands. He had the ball in the glove but couldn't hold it.

Amazing effort!!

Tough loss but the win streak had to end at some point and with Houston losing and Toronto losing the Rangers still sit 3 games up in loss column in West and in good shape for at least a WC. The magic numbers are still 2 for WC but down to 3 to win the West. Rangers can still clinch a playoff spot and even the West before the weekend so we hopefully arent sweating out Saturday or God forbid Sunday.

The AL playoffs are becoming clear. The second-place East will have the first WC leaving the West to decide their winner. Then things get interesting for Toronto and the non-West winner teams. Right now, it appears that the second WC is Toronto's to lose, but if Houston is a WC they at least have a shot if they can close without a loss. The Seattle/Texas four-game will determine the West winner and probably the third WC as the only way Seattle and Texas can become the second WC is for Toronto to totally collapse.

Magic Number for the Rangers now down to 3. Win today in Anaheim and split with Seattle and Houston can't win the West. IMO, the Rangers really need to win the West and get the first-round bye.
It would help if Seattle can beat Houston again today.

So, how did you hit 'em ???
Not well, WM. I thought about calling my group to cancel today. I should have. I wasn't watching carefully yesterday - trying to get out of my car, and my left foot slipped. Ended up falling on my left hip and raised a big welt. Tried to swing today; by the sixth hole, it was obvious that I couldn't get my weight to my left side. So, for the rest of the round, I just rode along and dropped a ball when we got to the green so I could practice putting. I'm getting ready to get the ice bag out and ice the hip some more. Maybe by next week.
BUT - my injury won't affect my ability to cheer for the Rangers! Magic number now 3. A Rangers win over the Angels and a Mariners win over the Astros tonight would be terrific!

My wife needed a large ice bag for her back. See if you can locate one of those large flat soft ice bags you put in the freezer. Think 15" x 15" size or so. They do a terrific job wrapping an area & getting cold to an large area like a hip or back. We got ours at an old drug & medical device store in McKinney that carries a lot of things a regular cvs or walgreens would not have.

Rangers going to top of 3rd, still 1-0. Mariners batting in bottom of 2nd, still leading 1-0. Need some more runs for Rangers and Mariners.

Dunning, Gray and Montgomery are who we have to REALLY count on in the playoffs. Maybe Eovaldi if he is back to 100%.

Can we count on Perez!?

Can you imagine if DeGrom and Scherzer were in our playoff lineup!?

When back issues kept me off the course 2 summers ago I spent a couple of hours a day on the practice greens. Putting, chipping. When my back was better I took 4 strokes off my ghin. Those hrs on the practice green paid off

Hope your hip gets better soon. If pain persists... tony manzoni has a great book (the lost fundamental) that's worth looking into IF your hip is slow to heal.

Meanwhile back at the ranch... Rangers clinging to a 2-0 lead going to B8th.

'stros still up 4-3 on Seattle B5th.
