She sure did pitch against us. On March 10 she pitched 4 innings and gave up 6 hits and 4 runs in a 5-1 Texas win. I guess the land thieves see some greatness in her?

wow that’s unexpected! Unlikely she comes to Texas but one can hope. My money is on Tennesse, Arkansas, or Bama if she does enter.
She's from the Houston area. Being that she didn't go too far away from home out of high school, she could want similar proximity. Considering we have not targeted any transfers (that we know of), we could have a very enticing financial package for her.
I wondered would she or would she not consider OU. I mean, literally up the road.

We may have picked up someone from the portal or a possible commit. I’ve never seen Mike White do this before so we’ll see!

If Maxwell goes to OU then she was definitely pushed in the portal. The timing of everything is suspect. Everyone hated on Mike White for saying Texas does it the right way but he was 100% correct.
Coach White has his twitter set up where you can not respond to his tweets unless you are in a select set of people he allows to respond. I saw that Coach Singleton had retweeted Coach White's tweet so I responded by asking "Coach Sing what's up? Do we have a new commitment? A Lot of excited people out there watching!" Within a minute of me posting this Hannah Wells liked my tweet to Coach Sing! That has to be good sign she may be committing to Texas in this 2025 class!
I don't think it means that at all. Her pitching coach retired 3 weeks ago.

The way Maxwell talked about her head coach there is no way she just leaves him like that. Regardless I believe she was contacted by ou to enter the portal and used that as a reason
Supposedly, softball scholarships for the class of 2025 cannot be extended until September 1, 2023.

I’m not sure who it could be that can come in and make an immediate impact. Vawter is the only one and it looks like she’s headed to duke.
Maybe someone who used to wear a lighter shade of orange?
Nah. That would just be too good.
OU has a "shortage" of pitchers and the fact they took a pitcher with a higher ERA from Wisconsin makes it likely it's OU and not Texas.

I wasn't implying Hannah Wells was the topic of Coach White's tweet. I am aware she cannot be offered until Sept 1. It's just the fact she is following what is happening with Texas very closely! I believe she will be the Premier pitcher Coach White gets in the 2025 class.

I did and neither seem to be active on instagram. No recent follows that indicate anything. Twitter likes are mainly involving high school recruits so nothing involving players from the portal that would indicate anything.

With Mike White tweeting “Hook em” today. I’m very curious on if he got Alana Vawter. For those who don’t know Alana Vawter originally committed to Texas but then Decommitted whenever Texas hired Mike White. I wasn’t sure if it was she didn’t like Mike White or she just really wanted to be coached by Connie Clark but his tweet today has me wondering. Alana Vawter is an engineering major and Texas is known for their amazing engineering program.
For those who aren’t sure how good she is. She’s good. Stanford just didn’t have offense to help her . In her 4 years at Stanford, she is 77-34 with a 1.75 career ERA, 26 shutouts, and 527 strikeouts in her 4 years.
I also find it odd that Mike White tweeted that right after Kelly Maxwell made her announcement even though the rumors are Maxwell going to OU, I still think it’s a chance considering she is from Texas and played travel ball with Courtney Day, Janae Jefferson, and McKenzie Parker.

They have been absolutely disgusting towards Maxwell and it’s sad because they would not be relevant in college softball without her.

I would be upset if that what the tweet was about. I’d love to know who it is but the timing of Maxwell entering and Vawter being in the portal it would seem like a let down if that tweet was simply about a new coach. Especially since he has never done that before when it comes to a hire or a recruit.

After doing some more intensive research. I no longer think it is Kelly Maxwell nor Alana Vawter which is a bummer because we had good offense this year, it was just our pitching. We were missing that dominant pitcher this year like we’ve had with Dolcini, Elish, Davis, Luna, Osterman. I really hope the pitching gets better. I still think Sophia Simpson is the best pitcher on our roster if she would just be more consistent and not look so nervous all the time on the mound. It’s amazing how she led the team in strikeouts but had less innings than everyone. With us returning everyone back in the circle and gaining a top freshman recruit who is a strikeout pitcher, I hope she actually comes in and dominates like a freshman (Canady, Meylan, Pickens, Hurd)
Now back to my research. I noticed a player from Notre Dame retweeted Mike White’s tweet. When I went on her Twitter, I saw she retweeted things about the portal. She was also in the portal. Her name is Joley Mitchell. She led Notre Dame with a .382 batting average with 10 home runs and 11 doubles, starting all games at 3rd base. (Maloney hit .382, Scott hit .377, Martinez hit .346, and Goode hit .325). Joley has 2 years of eligibility left I believe. I’m 70% sure this is who the tweet is about. If it is, I’m not sure how I feel. I haven’t heard her name at all during the season. She did make first team all ACC and was first team NFCA in her region. She has hit a double of Danielle Williams from Northwestern. She hit a double and home run off of Cassidy Hurd from Duke. She has hit a home run off of Emma Lemley from Virginia Tech. She also has hits of Kathryn Sandercock and Makenna Reid from Florida State, Stevie Hansen from Oregon, and Chenise Delce from Arkansas so she’s had success against good pitching.
Overall it wasn’t a bad pickup. But I preferred a dominant pitcher. We hit .325 as a team which was great. But our team 2.39 ERA hurt us. None of our pitchers ERA was under 2.

you’re right it’s about an 80% chance it’s her. Washington, Cimusz, and Scott all recently started following her on instagram. Shes also being followed by Czech and Singleton.
if she does come to Texas she may be in the DP role because her fielding isn’t the best and I don’t see her beating out anyone in the in field.
