2023 Recruiting - Football

Afterattending this 7-on-7 even today, IT believes that DE Matayo Uiagalelei (Bellflower, CA) and CB Jordan Matthews (Baton Rouge, LA) are two out-of-state prospects Texas will be in the race for until the end.

To add more updated info on RB Rueben Owens...he was also competing in the 7-on-7 event today, and IT believes it'll ultimately come down to A&M and Texas for him.

He's known Coach Choice for two years, so there's really no drop-off at all with Coach Drayton leaving for Temple.

He plans to use all five official visits and then enroll early, but should be back on campus in the spring when QB Arch Manning visits again.

DT My'Keil Gardner of Peoria, AZ is another out-of-state prospect that Texas is in good shape with right now, mostly due to the recruiting of Coach Davis.

Texas' competition should come from Pac-12 schools, and the staff will attempt to get him on campus this spring.

My'Keil Gardner, Liberty, Defensive Line

247 hearing things are "heating up" between Texas and WR DeAndre Moore, Jr. of Los Alamitos, CA.

He loves Austin and is a big fan of Coach Marion and what he was able to do at Pitt.

Texas should get an official, but important to remember he has two teammates already committed to USC and all three of them were committed to Riley before he left OU.

CB Tay'Shawn Wilson of Katy Mayde Creek told 247 he plans on hitting Texas in March once the winter dead period is over.

This is looking like a Baylor vs. Texas battle.

He played with Sark's son last year ... nice nuggets here

Texas expected to receive an official visit from four-star WR DeAndre Moore

Per IT, priority targets WR Johntay Cook II (DeSoto), TE Lafayette Kaiuway (Arlington Sam Houston) and LB Anthony Hill, Jr. (Denton Ryan) plan on attending the spring game in April.

WR Ryan Niblett of Aldine Eisenhower told 247 he wasn't sure why he omitted Texas from his recent list of top schools, but they are actually in there.

He texts a lot with Coach Marion and is trying to set up a visit to Texas for the spring.

He'll go see Alabama right when the dead period ends.
