2023 Recruiting - Football

Worthy hasn't announced anything and Red has removed all UT related info from his social media. We'll see where this one goes.
I feared this. I had high hopes for Red.
I'd rather the prima dona leave, the pseudo receiver.
perhaps J Cook, and Neyor dazzles and takes a lot of throws away from Worthy.
But I also like the speed of B Thompson and Niblett. Jimmy Johnson once said "speed kills". Those two just need a warrior mentality. I believe Cook has that mentality. Worthy has that mentality but has inconsistent hands, and I am being nice.
I know some are thinking "if Worthy stinks like that then why doesn't Sark do something about that, after all Sark has a ton more knowledge than you?"
true, and it's inexplicable to me. I guess Sark has made many promises to Worthy and has cowtowed to him. Is Sark that desperate? I just don't think Sark is a "John Wayne" leader, if you will.
My two cents.

Do we really want to get rid of the receiver who, through their first 2 seasons, has the most TD receptions, the most total yards, and the most receptions of any wide receiver in history at Texas?
Has he hurt our feelings that bad?

There is no indication that he is a locker room cancer. If its a mechanical issue, it can be rectified.
Insiders saying its a sophomore slump. A term used a lot in the 80's and 90's.
We'll see.

DE Tausili Akana told IT one special part of his recruitment was Sark flying to Hawaii to see his mother.

He was the only head coach to do so.

I guess he wants his NIL to start sooner rather than later.

Logistics are probably tough considering he's from California and it's a week-long event capped off by the game on Saturday.

Spring semester at UT starts two days later on Monday the 9th, workouts should start Tuesday the 10th.

With the uncertainty surrounding Worthy — not so much the portal talk but his issues catching the ball — Moore, Cook & Niblett would seem to have a golden opportunity to see the field very early, and perhaps make an impact.

I am still somewhat surprised that a player like Evan Stewart hasn’t seized the opportunity.

Even sweeter that it was the blow-u QB commit.
If any of you watched the game, maybe you noticed the constant worshiping of Arnold by one announcer.
I’m sure he’s good, but I saw him play in HS and at that game… he struggled in both.
I must be missing something

I went to the Guyer vs. Highland Park game at the Ford center and came away impressed by Jackson Arnold, guy has a live arm and in my opinion is better than OU's current starting QB. The HP QB was impressive as well at least in the realm of leading his team down the field, he didn't have the arm JA had but was picking apart a decent defense with high caliber defensive recruits from Guyer. Guyer finally made the defensive plays you expect though to put the game away.

I hope Niblett gets a jolly green giant nil deal!
