2023-24 Transfer Portal Thread (CLosed-Opens APRIL 15TH)

The latest from OTF and IT on TCU DT Damonic Williams...

"TCU transfer defensive tackle Damonic Williams arrived in Baton Rouge for his LSU visit Monday evening. He will remain on campus today before heading back to Fort Worth tonight or early Wednesday morning. OnTexasFootball believes Oklahoma, Texas and LSU are all very much in the picture. Oklahoma and LSU have an inviting depth chart if Williams chooses to be a heavy snap player in what he hopes will be his final year in college. Williams is also fond of the Texas program, and sees opportunity despite the Longhorns already taking two transfers on the interior. It's not out of the question Oklahoma and Texas will meet with the 6-1.5, 315 pounder Wednesday afternoon prior to decision Wednesday night or Thursday/Friday."

"Based on my read of the Texas side I feel okay but not great on Damonic Williams. Like I’ve said nothing truly matters until it’s time to wrap it up and so far it’s not wrapped up. That means there could be a hiccup or it could just get done. Right now there is optimism on the Texas side they can lock him up but this is one that isn’t over until it’s over. He’s set to decide tomorrow."

Damonic Williams, TCU, Defensive Line

Burton at OTF commented that he was running third team and this move didn't surprise the staff.

He basically plays a position that we don't use on the field. When we have 4 down linemen, including jack/buck, then we're pretty much always running with 2 LBs (or 1 if it's a modified dime formation).

It'd basically have to be one of those odd run-stopping formations with a NT and 3 LBs, and THEN he'd have to supplant Lefau or Gbenda to play there.

I remember having visions of Brockermyer brothers in burnt orange leading a dominant OL. A lot can happen in college football.

I was sure hoping for more from him given his experience but I also knew that Anthony Hill is locked in and since we only typically have 2 lb's, his options were limited. Given he added the weight reported then its one of those things that just didnt work out.

ESPN 30 for 30 in route to Boulder.
Obviously I have zero information, but it appears that there is something wrong with the program.
I used to work with a person on Deons staff and he is one of the most worthless people Ive worked with and no doubt nepotism is in play as this guy has zero experience in his current duties at CU and is widely regarded as an ahat within my company.

We have to assume that Sark and his staff are feverishly working the portal quietly - but it would be nice to see the results appear soon. There are some needs for the Longhorns that the portal guys can fill.
