2022 Softball transfers

TexasSoftball Instagram account, which only follows 126 other accounts, started following Arizona State transfer pitcher, Mac Morgan.

Why Mac Morgan Chose Arizona State (softballamerica.com)

I’d say it’s a done deal then. The Texas accounts don’t just follow anyone, they follow players who are committed. It’s very rare we follow a player who is not commited with the only exception I’ve seen is Jordy Bahl from Oklahoma. If she’s committed I hope she brings Sanders with her.

Now I say we need one more pitcher. A Dolcini type of pitcher with a low ERA and big strikeout numbers. Not sure who’s in the portal but we need one and of course a few more position players.

Cydney Sanders and Haley Lee would definitely be high on my list as position players to pick up. Both Power hitters.

SHARLIZE PALACIOS is also in the portal out of Arizona. A catcher who hit .326 with 20 home runs on the year. Hope Texas can snag her or Lee as both would be big additions at a position of need.

I am getting so good at this I can't stand it! :D

I was wondering when more players would be leaving OU as they are pulling in so many more players out of the portal. July 1st is the deadline, so maybe a few more will be revealed next week.

I’m really surprised Nicole May has not entered the portal. I thought she’d be the first to enter since they got Storako. May will see limited action if she stays at ou

I wonder if OU is going to pick up Lee from A&M and Coleman saw the writing on the wall?

Turiiya Coleman's new Instagram story is that of new Texas assistant softball coach Kristen Zaleski, who of course, she's familiar with being on the OU staff this past season.

I've seen her play quite a bit, not sure she would play much at Texas. I think she ends up at A&M or Houston.

I thought that Mike White hired Zaleski for her ties to Texas recruiting as well as her coaching experience, so this makes sense. We have 1 catcher coming in and Cimusz, so I wondered if Mike would like to add another. Lee obviously would be the bigger catch and Coleman played mostly outfield at OU since they were stacked at catchers who could hit.

Arizona's catcher Sharlize Palacios entered the portal:
Hitting: 0.326
HR: 20
Put Outs: 239
Assists: 28
Errors: 3
Years: 3

Texas softball also following Danieca Coffey from LSU & vice versa. A player who hit .474 with 72 hits this past season. She’s also following a couple current players and 2023 commit Kayden Henry. She’s also former teammates with Mia Scott out of Angleton high school.

In regards to the follows:
Lee started following Arkansas coaches and even Taylor Ellsworth. Then she started following Washington coaches. There was a reminder that she was teammates with Baylee Klingler when they were freshmen together at A&M. And now, Texas. I wondering if the openings are drying up for players like her in the portal. Oh yeah, she also followed TJ Gasso of OU.

As for Texas Softball's official site following a player, word is that Texas Softball account only does it when things are very serious. However, the same people pointed out that the softball account is still "following" Jordy Bahl of OU, so you know...grain of salt and all that.

Looked at her fielding stats:
2021: 0.887
2022: 0.892

Compare to our current infielders
Scott: 0.877

Washington:
2021: 0.889
2022: 0.947

Jefferson:
2021: 0.966
2022: 0.962

Need someone better to replace Jenae

That was my biggest thing as well. She also had 15 errors on the season. She played 3rd at LSU but, Scott has that locked down so I could see her moving to 1st or possibly outfield. This is all of course if she does transfer to Texas.

As far as replacing Jefferson, nobody will be able to replace her. We just need someone to come close and I could see Washington moving to 2nd and Martinez taking over the SS position or Scott possibly moving to 2nd. This is all hypothetical of course until Coffey officially transfers to Texas.

Haley Lee recently started following coach Singleton on Instagram.
Since Coach Singleton's IG account is private, does anyone follow him (as I don't follow anyone)? He doesn't follow many accounts (135), so I'm curious what his tendency is as to who he chooses to follow, and who he has started following recently in addition to Haley Lee.

Another punch in the gut to Trisha Ford at Texas A&M as Arizona State transfer pitcher, Allison Royalty (Corinth, TX) is transferring to Florida State. Not sure if we recruited her out of high school, or recently as a transfer.

Scratch that, Texas softball has now unfollowed Coffey. Have no idea what’s going on with that but I guess it was by mistake since Coffey isn’t in the portal as of now.
