2022 Recruiting - Football

TFB drops a ton of new recruiting nuggets ... see link

I thought this the most interesting:
While I was chatting with five-star defensive back, Jacoby Mathews, this past weekend he mentioned something noteworthy.
I asked him if any of the Texas commits are recruiting him and he said, Maalik Murphy and…
Bryce Anderson.

As mentioned a few weeks ago, the film I have seen of Trevell Johnson reminded me of Horn great Derrick Johnson when I saw him play in a playoff game his senior year of high school somewhere here in the DFW metroplex (Derrick's team was from Waco).

Apparently, TFB are impressed with Trevell as well. I'm guessing he will be a solid 4 star when all is said and done.

Good thing we already have Casey and Hudson then.
Exactly
I hope we get a top notch QB in '23 (hello Manning) 24?
I would like to see both thompson and card play in every game in 21, unless one stinks up the joint.
I have this feeling that they are going to shake up the college football world.
But then again I have lost my last three bets.

Ideally what Texas will hope for is guys that push their decisions back to December, that will give our coaches a near full season body of work to show recruits.

As for Maalik, he needs to transfer from his high school to either Gorman or IMG. Poor kid looks terrible because he is running for his life every time he snaps the ball, and he is throwing to a bunch of recievers with clubs for hands.

Uh oh
He may be a project.
It's one thing to have all the tangibles but its another
thing to go against a live defense.
Not really sure how a kid goes from a 5 star QB to a possible project? He appears to have all the talent in the world and must have shown something or he wouldnt be rated that high.

interesting note to file away, per IT.
Coach Coleman and the father of OL Earnest Greene III played together in the NFL.

LB Niuafe Tuihalamaka of Mission Hills, CA confirmed to 247 over the weekend that he does plan on taking an official visit to Texas once things open back up.

He's in constant contact with coaches Choate and Kwiatkowski, and speaks with Sark at least once a week.

Notre Dame continues to be the main competition here.
