2022 Recruiting - Football

Apparently schools are using his past alcoholism in the negative pitches to recruits
This may sound strange but I actually sort of hope that opposing recruiters take this approach. I believe it to be a losing proposition. People tend to forgive, and nobody can discount what Sark has accomplished over the last couple of years. So let them play the drinking card. I think that will actually help us...and hurt them, the messengers.

interesting article comparing Maalik Murphy rating vs. prior highest rated Texas QBs since 2000

Where does five-star Maalik Murphy fit in with Texas' top QB recruits in history?
Thanks for posting and very interesting. For my money our top QBs over the past several decades (no revelations here) were VY & Colt. Colt was hardly on the radar screen. No one else came close although we will never know about Gilbert...had the offense not been changed.

If the NFL’s hit rate on #1 QB picks is around 50%, we can’t expect much better, if that. It is exciting however that two top prospects for 22 are in the conversation.

And we’ll see about Casey. He may turn out to be special. He certainly was in his last (first) game.

Not putting in a CB out of respect, but he told me he was committing to Texas. Lol that's kind of a tool move

Looks like another Dallas area player to ou. One of the top safeties Chace Biddle

ou 247 on Biddle

"First off, Texas' pursuit of Biddle has all but fizzled out. He informed me that ever since Steve Sarkisian took the reins in Austin and overhauled the staff, his communication with the Longhorns has dwindled. That's significant, as UT was heretofore considered the leader for Biddle's commitment. In fact, the Longhorns received a crystal ball for Biddle from 247Sports Texas insider Mike Roach all the way back in July 2020. That could be an indication that Texas is zeroing in on the likes of Xavier Nwankpa or Landon Hullaby, or it could simply be an indication that new defensive coordinator Pete Kwiatkowski just doesn't see Biddle as a fit for his system. One way or another, it is abundantly clear that Texas isn't the leader in the clubhouse as far as this recruitment is concerned....."

We "re-offered" 4-star LB Niuafe Tuihalamaka of Mission Hills, Calif
Top 10 in state and #3 ILB per the 247comp

As mentioned. Of the group of recruits you posted a couple of pages ago, Bryce is the most likely to be the first commit.

Apparently he is related to 3 Longhorns -- Locke, Beasley and Blue

Super K of TFB is supposed to see Anderson tonight who is being recruited by Bama, LSU, aggy, tOSU etc. But he likes our chances.

Most of the talk has been about Texas A&M and LSU in regards to Bryce. While they are certainly contenders, Texas is in much better position than most believe.

I really like Trevell too. There is no way he is just a 3 star. He reminds me of Derrick Johnson when I went to watch one of his high school games back in the day. He gets there in a hurry with passion. I hope he commits to the good guys this weekend.

ESPN already had him as a 4-star
247 will catch up
