2022 Recruiting - Football

If A&M gets Harris, perkins campbell and stewart i am going to commit Harry Carey.
I want Campbell but Greene is a taker.
Perkins is a huge need.
Will be watching these commitments.
As far as I know Campbell is down to us and ou...FWIW

This is a strange situation. I think calzada must have been estranged for some reason or is he doesn't like wiegmann coming in. Many A&&m fans are already promoting wiegmann as the starter.
3 of the best QBs in the nation are out of texas this year and a few other good ones.(i know Quinn reclassified). D Brown(Utah) is elite also.
You make a good point with Weigman.
With King returning, too...I'm guessing he thinks he played well enough to get some decent teams attention and can transfer and keep starting.
Resume reads: Led team to victory over Bama in 4th game as collegiate starter

..and the rest of the page is blank

Whether TAM has the #1 class or # 10, that’s probably not the question. The question is, did we get — will we get — what we need to compete for a championship? If one assesses the quality of players we will have at QB, RB, WR, OL, DL, DB… We will have the talent to win at the highest level if this staff is as good as we hope they are.

I’m pretty jazzed and not particularly concerned about what’s happening in College Station. Class ratings are simply an indicator of “possible” future success. By that measure, I like where we sit, and who will be suiting up in the burnt orange.

If we get Campbell or Greene our line would look a road grader. Yea sir! That certainly is a gruntling thought.

My greatest concern is linebacker. Not only do we need Perkins but transfers as well. I do believe Overshown is NFL talent but we definitely need help. I believe Sark or the BMDs will get that done.

Edit: seems like Ford was coming on or somebody.

It always took several years to get a good assessment of a recruiting class' actual impact as opposed to their potential impact. With the portal we can probably begin to assess actual impact sooner than before.

For the record, I for one am not concerned about atm. I don't really care one way or the other... personally..whether they succeed or fail. From a football perspective..as a football fan...I think what they are doing is interesting and there are many interesting things occurring in the realm of college football in general. Fascinating times for college football. I can find both atm's growth as a program interesting and be excited and very interested in what goes on on the 40, as well. Just like I can support Casey Thompson and say his deep ball sucks. You also won't find me calling for UT to go 10-2 or 11-1 or whatever every year.....

A&M is going to succeed because NIL allows them to do what they have always done but do it in the open. Advantage for A&M is twofold:

1) They no longer have to worry about the NCAA breathing down their neck

2) Gone are the days when a recruit took their money to another school, took their car and drove to another school (it happened more than once), or grabbed the cash just before robbing a stop n steal and going to jail rather than Kyle Field (FWIW, the Aggies let "momma" keep the cash)

I know it's fun to trash aggy..and I'll get burned for this...
But in my view they are in an excellent position at the ATM (he he he) in terms of progression of program, relevance, stability, recruiting, talent, leadership, fan support. product on field, and potential in the next few years. It turns out moving to the SEC as well as hiring Jimbo were both good moves. Certainly the best position they've been in in my adult lifetime.

Poop away...
I’m evaluating your sponsor status.

Flip side is that assuming that:

1) their success is historically due to paying their players (proven as they’ve been caught)
and
2) we have been able to succeed without doing so

then the playing field just got leveled. Our boosters should be able to match theirs

Ewers would have helped close the gap on the recruiting class overall if he hadn't graduated early then transferred in.

I think aggy is going to do fine. But we'll catch up pretty soon

Perkins is a huge need.

I am wondering if Winfield was not recruited, and UT decided to go after a better person like Law?
Sarks been clear about quality. that stunt Winfield pulled would raise maturity questions.
Law is a better guy and a better athlete.

Maybe he was steered to Bailor when Texas hinted it was a better fit.

Yesterday on Bobby Burton's podcast Gerry Hamilton said Sarkisian was ready to welcome him back with open arms. You got a problem with that.take it up with him.

This would be step 1 of 4 to get to a championship. We need at least 3 more classes like this one to have a chance.

So moving to transfers - I keep hearing Ryan Watts is expected to come to Texas, which we need DB help. Assuming we are looking at 1-2 DB's, 2-3 OL, 2 ILB, 1 QB, 1-2 WR's, Edge guy ? Besides Watts, anyone know who is on Sark's radar?

Okay, I just might. Thanks for the inside info and advice.
Come to think of it, let’s you and I compile a list of opinions, arrange some other like minded opinion folk like me, rent a Greyhound, book a conference room at the Four Seasons and we can air all of our opinions directly to Sark Invite your pal Bobby Burton as well.
That work for you, make you happy?

Geez dude I was making a comment as ‘ I wonder if’, that’s all.

And by the way I heard that podcast.

I don't follow ATM because I don't care about them. If they've been doing this all along under the table we have nothing to worry about. atm didn't succeed before. How does bringing it above board makes us think their performance will change?

Because they have a real coach?

NR,

Nice post, but why the hell would Sark meet with Bobby Burton or even be in the same room with him or any of his kind?
Good question I do exist had me believing that he was Sarks right hand man. Maybe IDE was wondering out loud like I was.

I've known Bobby since the early to mid 80s when he was trying to make a living on printed recruiting news. There were about 3-4 guys doing the same thing. One of them moved out to California. Of course when the internet came along and changed their business model completely.
