2022 Recruiting - Football

In the late 90’s Kansas had an All-American guard named Jacque Vaughn, who had an opportunity to declare for the NBA draft after his junior year and declined to play his senior year in Lawrence. When asked why he would pass on first-round $, he replied by asking the reporter what he would pay to get a year of his youth back.
I hope these guys don’t regret their decision years from now.

If you aren't enrolling early, then why quit during season? I don't understand that move. You can't get NLI $ till enrolled in school correct?

I assume it's a 'protect from injury' move. His high school team, Frisco Liberty is 5-0, 3-0 in district so you have to assume they are set up for a strong playoff run...

This appears to be a natural progression. College players started avoiding bowl games. Specifically, college players who were NFL draft prospects. Now, with the advent of monetary opportunities in college, kids are deciding not to risk their financial future in high school. It will be interesting to see how this plays out.

Can't recall if it was last week or the one before but on his "Whiparound" show Wilfong said Stewart was pretty much down to Florida and Alabama. We and LSU are on the outside looking in. Have no idea how accurate.

According to Roach, there is an apparent rift between Stewart and his HS coaching staff. He says Stewart missed a practice for personal reasons, then later is was said that he missed for reasons other than what he gave the coaches. Coaches confronted him about it. Heated exchange ensued. He was benched for a week. Played the next. Then stopped his HS career.

Roach said "Stewart cryptically tweeted "Always remember who has the power"

He now has new handlers who are going to help manage his NIL opportunities and his recruitment.

Texas is still recruiting him.

Florida is the leader by all accounts.

IT said tonight that CB Denver Harris of Galena Park North Shore is looking into returning to Austin for the big recruiting weekend in mid-October.

I certainly hope Sark can find us another X. Worthy or two and let young Mr. Stewart take his self absorbed circus elsewhere.

Some notes on these.
Preston is a long shot. A lit depends if we can keep Tapp and maybe snag a couple more La kids.

Hudson has committed to 3 schools and de committed from all of them. He really isn't a priority and as mentioned before, he may be a bit of a head case.

Gooden is being recruited as a safety. Liked us early on and has de committed from Az St. I believe he is trying to schedule a visit.

All has gone dark with Coleman. Liked us early on weeks ago. Murphy has been tweeting to him. It's believed that bama is the leader currently.
Hope that helps

.@On3Recruits recently visited Texas commit @SmvOperator at Junipero Serra HS. We hit him with five Longhorn names/phrases to see what his instant reaction was.
