2022 House and Senate election

HIC,

Texas Supreme Court says provisional ballots filed after 7 PM will not count.
The secondary problem, beyond more litigation, had they permitted them is that early vote totals were being released by Harris County shortly after 7PM...which would have opened the door to additional litigation given how many local races are in the 49.x-50.x category.

We got a couple of R judges onto the bench, but the undervote down-ballot was a good 40-50K. And sadly, it appears we are stuck with Hidalgo until her indictment is handed up...

That is built on the premise that the people who voted Fetterman, have capable, solid decision-making ability.
I’d say if someone actually voted Fetterman, then they are plum nuts and you can’t fix them.

People on the other side of the aisle say the same thing about Walker, especially considering the hypocritical nature of people who are anti-abortion and anti-crime voting for a guy who has paid for abortions and held a gun to his ex's head.

But, just like the GOP, Democrats see Fetterman as a means to an end. They'll overlook the poor debate showings and health issues, just like Republicans will overlook that Walker said he'll welcome Martians.

Pennsylvania might be the dumbest state in America. “Let’s elect a man who has never held a job, can’t speak in public and wears a sweatshirt hoodie to every public event.”
Votes need to be challenged...were they voting for Fetterman or the lump being hidden by the hoodie?

Hope everyone enjoys 100+ bbl oil for as far as the eye can see.

The only silver lining is that the Republicans were shown a harbinger of things to come if they nominate Trump in 2024.

The other silver lining is my oil and gas stocks will continue to do very well...

They are not nuts. Well, maybe they are but what they really are are Liberal obsessives who understand that Fetterman is a vote for Liberal initiatives. His hoodie and his inability to articulate a thought means nothing. This will be a made as instructed position and he'll vote straight party line. State reps no longer mean anything because they've centralized the power and coordinated it nation-wide.

Sean Patrick Maloney (D-NY, Chairman of the DCCC) just conceded. That's a pickup. Link. Big win, but I'll give the guy credit for conceding. The margin was razor thin. It wouldn't have been crazy to fight over it or ask for a recount.

Quick Senate summary:
GOP to win Alaska and WI - not confirmed yet.
GOP winning NV - I think this one is solid GOP.

The above gives GOP 50 seats. For majority, GOP needs to win either AZ or GA. I think 52 is probable, which by the way, was the mainline consensus months ago. Note my prediction was 54 +/- 2. Obviously, 51 or 52 seats is a disappointment give the red wave rhetoric.

Assuming GOP wins NV, AZ and GA, it means the red wave hit the southern parts of the US while the Northeast and Northwest were solidly protected, with some encroachment in the central US.

I think they'll hold AK and WI. NV has Laxalt in the lead, but my understanding is that there are a lot of mail-in ballots left to "count." That's not a good sign. Masters is losing by five points. Unless a hell of a lot of the uncounted votes are his, I don't see how he recovers that much. GA is heading for a runoff and without Kemp at the top of the ticket. That ended disastrously last time.

Yes, AZ GOP leads Election Day votes by 40% and those have not been counted due to the snafus.

likely to be much lower turnout but don't you think that favors GOP, especially if Kemp can now devote some extra energy to assisting Walker. (assuming he wants to) Seems like Kemp could lend Walker some additional credibility and get him that extra 1%.

Liberals just look at Fetterman as a vote in the senate. Nothing more. He could shoot someone 5th Avenue (sound familiar) and they wouldn't care. He's just a warm body to carry fwd the agenda

Murphy speaks truth just like Biden. Nobody wins in this election. Congress will be Republican and the Senate remains either tied or slightly in favor of either party. Get ready for two more years of inflation, high interest rates and crime. The border will remain wide open with fentanyl poisoning the country. Roe remains a state decision and Trump will split the Republican Party. Nothing has changed despite Americans overwhelmingly feeling the country is headed in the wrong direction. It’s a sad day for our republic.

It would be nice that, when you lose, you take it like men and not whine like little girls. Many republicans (not all) can dish it out, but can't take it.

Not many people remaining out there to sway on either side, imo. Economy, inflation, and thrift plans don’t really matter much to the left. And the right isn’t going to budge on abortion, border, and men getting pregnant. I think this is life for a long long long time.

The best outcome would be more local sovereignty. States left alone to do what their people want. That can be broken down further too into cities. But I don't want that for my city since it is turning into a Leftist crap hole currently.

I would agree with y'all that Trump was a deterrent if the rest of the GOP would have kicked *** besides the Trump people but they didn't. Trump isn't responsible for the poor showing of the House.

As stated above, we all lost yesterday. Seems half of America is either too dumb to know that or simply do not care. I’ll be fine either way. I just feel sorry for my grandkids.

that is true and often times goes underappreciated. there are entrenched voters on both sides. in almost all cases the lowest vote % for either party in a statewide race was around 41%. that means that no matter how good or bad the candidate is, no matter how much wrong/right direction sentiment there is about 80% of the country is already baked into voting for their party. That means winning is defined very differently than many on here would suggest. Winning is having more seats, even if they aren't Trumpy/Tea Party types. A wave these days is moving the seat counts by 3-4% in Senate and 5-6% in House. You look at each state as a standalone. If it is a purple state, you accept a "RINO" and don't give them crap every day.
