2022 House and Senate election

the party I grew up in and whose candidates I worked for every cycle has evolved into a pack of zealots with no attainable vision and little in the way of talents except for annoying the sane. But so have the republicans, which is why most people hate both of them and are reduced to justifying voting by saying they are picking among the lesser evils.

My favorite gambit this season is the shrill shrieks about the republicans suppressing the vote when all indications are that the vote is up in the supposed offending states.

The flip side of this is the GOP claiming tighter voting laws stopped voter fraud, and thus led to 2022 victories in AZ, NH, PA, GA, and NV (states that Trump lost in 2020)

The only strategy I can see is perhaps base turnout. Hardcore progressives need to feel righteous about something (why they try to spin everything as a civil or human rights issue even when they clearly are not), and when they do, they are more likely to vote. It's why pretty moderate and non-combative Republicans like Bush and Romney were demonized so harshly.

Under Trump, it was easy to accomplish this, because of how he ran his mouth. But with Trump out of office and off of mainstream social media, they struggle to find something. So they just invented a narrative out of thin air. It doesn't have to survive scrutiny, because no one in the media will give it any. And like I said earlier, we know the party and media don't actually believe it, because they aren't acting like they do.

That kind of wild and ugly rhetoric by Demx may fire up their base but it is also firing regular people, of course Repubs most independents and even some intelligent Dems.
We will see Tues how large their base is.

He would need to pull a Clinton-style reinvention to rebuild his presidency, and I don't think that's possible anymore. The party base is too delusional to accept that, because it would mean publicly condemning them. Furthermore, since it's a moral crusade for them, they aren't going to tolerate toning things down. That mindset was far less present under Clinton than it is now.

Ultimately, I think a lot of voters are rejecting something bigger than Biden. I think they're rejecting cultural and social extremism (and frankly just plain weirdness) from the Left. Biden couldn't fix that even if he wanted to.

Journalist claims Walker is being elected due to misinformation from totalitarians while being completely oblivious to dem’s 100% control of media, corporations and big tech. Am I on crazy pills?
Herschel Walker's Georgia Senate run is embarrassment for democracy

They're preemptively crafting the narrative for why they lost. It'll never be, "we just plain screwed up by not caring about crime, inflation, and illegal immigration and choosing to cozy up to weirdos and people who look like circus freaks to normal people, and we'll try to do better."

I have said this many times. Ann Richards appointed freaks and grifters when she was governor and ever since only 1-2 dems have ever been elected statewide.
