I get it... I was actually attempting to nip that conversation (regarding E. Martinez) in the bud because the point is moot anyway.

Funny to think Vic will be one of the more “senior” Big 12 coaches in his third season. Who would have thought Coale, Mulkey, Littell, and Carey? In the last three years, six (is that right?) of the ten HC changed. Crazy. And yet, this was one our strongest seasons as a conference.

Who will be next?

Since we're discussing Carey, this was from a couple of days ago. And, don't forget he suspended senior Niblack for what turned out to be their (her) final game against ISU in KC. Perhaps that harsh "coach's decision" didn't sit well with the other players.

I saw Kari Niblack sitting on the bench at the Big 12 tournament and thought she was injured and did not know she was suspended. Given her suspension, it was admirable how well West Virginia played against Iowa State. I admire Mike Carey in how he directed his program. He was honest with his players, media, and fans. He, along with Jim Littell will be missed.

So, TCU is keeping Raegan Pebley another season? She followed up her 2020-21 season record of 10-15 with a 6-22 record this season.

Over these last 2 seasons, there are new Big 12 coaches at Texas, Tech, OU, and Baylor. There will be new head coaches next season at OSU and WV.

Pebley has tenure over every head coach in the Big 12 except those at ISU, KSU, and KU.

From April 2021:
Georgia and women’s basketball coach Joni Taylor have agreed to a three-year contract extension that runs through the end of the 2026-2027 season and boosts her pay $100,000 next season to $850,000.

I'd guess that aggy would have to bump that well over $1M considering the trajectory of the 2 programs. aggy has been tailing off and Georgia had a good season plus has 2 elite recruits coming in (#3 overall F Janiah Barker and #37 W Sydney Bowles).
