2022-2023 Other B12 Teams

Pretty lopsided games across the conference tonight.

Iowa State 70 - West Virginia 50
Kansas 77 - Texas Tech 59
Kansas State 86 - Oklahoma State 72

BU, ISU, KU, and UT all 2-0 in B12.
OU, KSU both 1-1.
TCU, TTU, OKST, and WVU all 0-2.

I flipped over to the Texas Tech at Kansas game and saw glimpses of Ashley Chevalier's 5 minutes of play.

At first, I had to do a double take because I didn't recognize Ashley. Instead Ashley is going through circumstance similar to Tatum Veitenheimer after she transferred from Oklahoma to Texas Tech.

So will grazing off the tortillas flung all over creation up there.
Man, that really gives new meaning to the
Sounds like the Kentucky coach was pretty clear on what Dreuna had to do - we don’t often get the other side of the story in these situations.

Wow. What a little scam by Dreuna. Blame the coach and the program when its actually you that is the source of the problem. Yeah, she does need to sit! Also, I see Blackwell hasn't been playing. Anyone know her status?

I agree Edwards needs to sit and kudos to KY for giving a statement in this day & age where we are forced to cater to student athletes. Don’t get me wrong I’m fine with the idea of NIL and even the portal I just think that both might need their limits (and/or oversight). Sounds like this latest tact backfired on Edwards. Of course she would have participated at Kentucky. They’re having a tough season and she was a big part of that team last year. Let’s see if Baylor counters this response.

I think Blackwell is probably battling the injury bug again. Don’t know if it’s new or maybe came back too soon from the previous. I’m guessing

All four ranked Big 12 teams playing amongst themselves this weekend:

#23 Baylor @ #21 Kansas Sat 4:00pm

#11 Iowa St @ #17 Oklahoma Sun 2:00pm on ESPN2

As I was watching that I was imagining a parallel press conference with Mulkey and the venom dripping from each of her words and the sarcastic digs at Kentucky and their coach. Still despise Baylor and their culture but their coach showed she’s a grownup.

And there you have it... Texas Tech and "class" are polar opposites.
I've posted on Hornfans before that when I was @ tceh I was told that tceh would NEVER win a sportsmanship award as those things are for LOSERS!

Sportsmanship and class are not always mutually inclusive. I haven't seen much of either of those two things from Tech teams or their fans.

Another wild weekend in the Big12. Iowa State also loses its first conference WBB game at OU when star transfer Steph. Soares goes down in the 1st qtr with an apparent knee injury. MRI to follow tomorrow. Fennelly says "It doesn't look good" and "We'll have some more information tomorrow. Everyone is shook up. She's shook up." Well Bill, we know the feeling buddy. 20% of our scholarship WBB players here at Texas are benched for the rest of the season with ACL injuries. From what I can gather from social media, Soares' injury apparently occurred on an awkward landing, but she returned to the bench from the locker room later with ice on her knee. That sounds more like a sprain, but we'll see. Been a bad year for injuries.
Iowa State's Stephanie Soares Leaves Game With Injury

I was watching that game. It didn't look any worse than Moore's injury. But she grabbed her knee instantly.
Both teams are loaded with shooters..

The "game" threads are going to be fun when we play these 2 teams.

The husband of Kentucky Coach Kyra Elzy posted this Tweet demanding that the harassing texts from Dreuna Edwards and her family to his wife must stop.
