2022-2023 Other B12 Teams

Was he complaining about horns down or taunting?
He said that the horns down gesture was the same as any other type of taunting and should be penalized. I suppose there’s no version of claws down or guns down that is taunting … or that anyone gives a rip about.

Fennelly has never been a fan of tough defensive teams - he had a great line a few years ago about how Longhorns Football would win more games if they were as physical as Aston’s teams.

Hmm, actually , he was correct about the football team at that time! :bevo:

Personally I'd be more worried about the scoreboard than any hand gestures an opponent makes. I'd never let anyone get in my head so easily.

I have no problem with horns down by athletes as long as it’s not in a taunting fashion. Throw em down during introductions, on the sideline, before or after the game etc fine by me. But score a touchdown, make an interception etc it’s not celebrating your team it’s taunting the other. It’s not a special rule about horns down, it’s simply taunting which is a penalty in the rule book

bAiler gone now too, oU losing big at the half at UCLA. I suppose no Big12 teams will even make the Sweet 16 this year.

Big 12 is tearing it up in the wNIT. Big 12 Texas Tech and Kansas have each won their first two games in the WNIT. :rolleyes1: KSU plays its' second game tonight.

Sorry to post this here, as it is more appropriate for the 2023-2024 season.
But Soares isn't getting the waiver, which only makes sense because she played well past 30% of the season. If they gave her a waiver, it would have opened up the floodgates for future waivers. That's why there are rules. Sorry Fennelly - she gone.

Surely they figured the chances were slim-to-none when they applied. When it comes to redshirt years, the rules are pretty much the rules.

Sure hope they approve Amo's application. I'm too lazy to check when her injury occurred and if it met the criteria for granting the waiver.

According to the Senior Associate Athletic Director for Compliance, Scott Young, “the NCAA has two requirements for a medical redshirt; the injury must have occurred in the first half of the season, and the athlete must have competed in less than 30 percent of the season.

AMo played in 9 of 36 games (25%) and the injury occurred December 11th so she should easily get the waiver.

Since Tech is in town with both their softball and baseball teams. I thought I might look up all the coaches that the Tech AD has hired and fired. RED means the coach left for another job. BLUE means the contract of the coach was not renewed.

Holcutt was hired in 2011 and Del Conte was hired in 2017:

Well while not for long, they’re still in the same conference and on our schedule. LSU not so much. But if you think LSU and their coach don’t get any attention here, you’d be wrong.

Better question is why are you always taking up for Tech and insinuating something negative about Texas on here? Seems you are only ever here to stir the **** but that’s just my observation

I’m not trying to stir the ****, just making an observation as well. Although, I’m a diehard TX fan, I am from West TX, and admit I’d like to see Tech become competitive again (that doesn't mean I want them to beat Texas). I also don’t like to read demeaning banter about female athletes and coaches, whether it’s about their looks, weight etc. it’s just not necessary. Calling a female coach a b**tch or a classless hag ruffles my feathers no matter who they coach for. I've attended camps with Coach Gerlich, and although she's a spitfire, I found her to be kind and genuine, someone who cares about her athletes as I'm sure Vic does too. So yeah, I don’t like to see the petty, negative comments. We need to further women’s sports and support one another while still having competitive rivalries. But I guess that’s not what this board is about - peace out :hookem:

I get it... but there's an old saying "Don't start no ****, won't be no ****." Gerlich started this ****.

I'll leave out the B word label when referring to her for the time being, that is until she earns it again. I suspect that won't take all that long. And by the way... trust me there are no kind words out of Lubbock towards Texas either. Never have been.

Yea, sure Jan. We all hate women and women’s sports here. :rolleyes1:
Go troll the Tech boards and their lovely fans who hate the “whorns” and “cows” and have such respect for female athletes. I responded to your post that said we’re “obsessed with Tech” here and you try to twist that into misogyny. GTFO with that. Gerlich does not have my respect and it’s damn sure not because she’s a woman.

BTW, we’re so obsessed with all things Tech here that not a soul posted about their demise in the post season that happened days ago. Go stir **** elsewhere and go support Tech where you belong. This is a Longhorns fan site :hookem:

Kansas destroying Washington in the semi-finals of the WNIT. Jayhawks have played all games at home. I expect they will get the final at home.

Kansas won the WNIT and during halftime they interviewed the new (since October) WNIT Director Johnna Pointer former Texas Longhorn
