That's just not fair man. He should be made to run with one hand tied behind his back because it's physical privilege and we have to even things out.
 
Keep an eye on that Doug Brooks--Class of 2022. He could (and does) play a number of positions. Great speed for a young man that size. Good football sense. Related to Jonathan Brooks.

Its amazing that he didnt seem to get tackled regardless of the hole. His stats are mind boggling. He did appear to be either tired or lazy in the 2nd half whether it was on D or O. Lots of those kids played both ways but the Jim Ned guys were much more energetic in the 2nd half. Hope its a misread on my part but I worry about the lack of drive/enthusiasm.
 
To soften the blow a little, I am optimistic the portal will help us a lot this year. Plus we already had a strong GT game. I think there are a lot of good players looking around right now who have a get out of jail free card. They look at us and think they will have a shot at meaningful minutes on a high profile team that is on TV every weekend.

The downside is we are still losing players to the portal. The portal is both a giver and a taker.

Doug Brooks - known as Big Daddy Brooks from his Friday Night Tykes days - told Shiner's offensive and defensive linemen that he was going to find a way to get one of them a touchdown. In Shiner's state championship game win, he made it happen.

It's pretty obvious. We're F'd. Herman is a failure. We're just playing out the hand. Meanwhile, East of here is Top 5 in the polls and moving up the recruiting ladder too. OU is OU. The rest of the conference has zero fear or respect for us.

But we are woke so we have that going for us.

What are we doing?

Some things are most important than winning, like fairness. /sarc
 
When the new coach gets in place, it will be the first time we love "the portal", which will suddenly rectify some of the losses.

That was brutal! That kid was lucky to not have a broken neck. Got give him the guts award for the game for trying though.
 
Maybe, but we pick and choose which ones we want. Considering where recruiting is heading under Herman, rejects from Alabama, LSU, OU, Auburn, Florida, oSu might be an upgrade.

Also, Herman pisses off a coach at (pick a school), his RB or OL or LB goes away to school, gets homesick, and looks to come home. Our new coach takes the kid, since we wanted him originally, and makes a new friend at the HS.
