This can't be accurate. We beat #4 Cal in Berkeley in Karen's third season as the #5 seed:

The win marks only the third time in Texas history that the Longhorns have won an NCAA Tournament game as the lower-seeded team. UT's previous two victories came in 2003 (No. 2 Texas def. No. 1 LSU) and 1990 (No. 3 Texas def. No. 2 NC State).

Celeste has been playing HURT and injured all season, took 3 games + off, and is STILL not 100%...she plays with PAIN EVERY GAME... so, that’s where she has been...FYI...

First half was a thing of absolute beauty, the second half was totally opposite. I'll blame a lot of that on the officiating. They let the teams play the first half, then evidently all stuck their whistles in their asses the second half because there was a whistle every time they moved.

Disagree it was “totally opposite”...we DID let our foot off the gas, but UCLA really picked up the D...and then we got nervous/tentative...BUT we did keep shooting...the 3 from JAT at the last was KILLER....we did what we needed to do...

Funny that several others on here have mentioned they saw the same things I mentioned... But you're certainly entitled to your own version of reality just as the rest of us are.

I went back and watched Maryland's games against Northwestern and Iowa in the Big Ten Tournament. In both games, Maryland ate up their opponents playing zone defense with 3-pointers.

They remind me of the more recent Golden State Warriors where EVERYONE can hit 3-pointers including their post players Mimi Collins, & Chloe Bibby. It's like you can't play help defense otherwise they'll kick it for a spot up 3. Even if they miss, they offensive rebound so well because of their size and length including athletic Diamond Miller.

Defensively, they're tall and long (sole exception is Katie Benzan).

We have not seen a team this offensively strong all season.

It's going to take everyone playing tremendous one-one defense without relying on help defense because whomever Charlie is guarding is going to pull her out of the paint.

Vic needs to play both Collier and Ebo together, with Charli as a stretch 4. We cannot afford to try to force the ball into Collier in the paint against double and triple teams, daring us to win with 3s.

I agree with the above statement of playing the 2 bigs together in small stretches just to give another look that nobody has seen. I think they have play less than 100game mins together it could be feast or famine.

Baylor's recruiting has let the coach run wild against refs, getting on the floor, and probably what Vic refers to, disrespecting the opponent. They will get their due one day. It always happens. Karma is a ugly spirit that comes calling on those who test it.
