2020 Senate & House

The guy FOX put in charge of all that is a hardline Dem

Yeah, that was such a joke, ever worse that the AZ call.

Fox claimed a +5 Democrat gain before any of the polls had closed in the Midwest or west coast. Only off by at least 10-15 seats!

As long as the Democrats have at least 218 they can get whatever they want through - none of their members will go against the party, or they'd be finished forever. If they get bounced out next election, as long as they keep their Party Member in Good Standing status, plenty of corporate boards, think tanks, and college positions open to them as a retirement plan.

Loeffler is more Paul Ryan, Collins more Trump. The distinction matters.

Since Trump lost the state and Ryan won it decisively when he was on the ticket, somebody more like Ryan may be what we need. My bigger worry is the insider trading accusation. It didn't go anywhere criminally, but it doesn't look good.

I think the media unintentionally screwed them by trying to mainstream some pretty radical ideas and by making "the Squad" the most famous Democrats in the House besides Nancy Pelosi. Chic socialism and their hobby horse issues (like ending fossil fuels and defunding the police) seem normal in their circles and in districts like AOC's and Ilhan Omar's, but it's considered lunacy almost everywhere else.

It's funny you mention that because guess who set up his own "foundation" post-govt, using the Clinton Foundation framework?

I’ve removed Fox News from favorites on my browser and do not plan to watch any longer. Their Election Day coverage was on par with CNN.

I took three days off and went hunting. When I left my property, I turned on Fox XM. Chris Wallace said,” prominent Republicans are calling on Trump to concede. Up next Senator Mitt Romney explains why.”

I’ll miss Tucker until he leaves.

It's 48-48 right now with 4 seats outstanding. Repubs are firmly in control of Alaska (Why does Alaska only have 58% of their votes counted a week after the election?) and N. Carolina (barring thousands of Dem votes that they just "found".) That makes it 50-48. If they win at least one Senate race in Ga., they'll keep the Senate. If they lose both it'll be 50-50 and Hotlips Harris will break the ties and Chuckie Schumer will be Majority Leader and that will be a disaster.

Fox is missing all of us. I got an email from Fox News this morning promoting a story that Trump could still win. I deleted the message. I've heard they were behind cnn and pmsnbc in weekend ratings. Too bad, so sad.

I think these 9 Republican House flips are all official now. Still some races still counting

FL-27 Maria Elvira Salazar

Kevin McCarthy says Nancy Pelosi does not have the votes to remain as speaker.

It's doubtful that they'll have a coup over it. The only other options for Speaker are carbon copies of the "Clinton" moderates and none are more progressive than Nancy. Newsweek was quoted today saying that she easily has over 100 in the bag right now for the count in January. I could see a lot of people saying that Jim Clyburn deserves a shot, but it'll get beaten back by claims of misogyny.

Nope, he's black, so that trumps being a broad right now. Two years ago in the pound me too era it was the opposite.

Would hope the standing Speaker has 100 seats lined up, only 118 left to go!

The House was a disaster for the Democrats - may end up losing 10 of the 15 seat or so majority, in a year they and their media chumps all through they were going to roll.

They'll get the budget and stuff like that through - everyone likes to spend the future's money in DC, but being on such a knife edge, especially if Slow Joe is still stumbling around the White House then, is going to make it hard for them to even pass the foolish stuff they did last season, to see it properly die in the Senate.

Clyburn is certainly going to get something
But we may not be made aware of just what that is

Cunningham conceded to Tillis

:beertoast:

Quite glad about this. Cunningham should be beaten with a tank cheater bar for fooling around with a solider's wife. Fool might have won otherwise.

Between this one, and Collins winning in Maine, the Democrats let two seats slip through their fingers. With those in hand, the Republicans would need to win both GA seats just to have 50, instead of already being there.

Other big losses for them - Iowa, which I never thought was a contest. Montana, where a popular Democrat governor was running against a first term Senator, and various money wasters such as Texas, Kansas, and KY and SC where they bilked their donors of close to 200 mill, to lose by a combined 35 points. So close!

Too bad Ga has such lax laws. There will be loony Dems who will do that.
Of course Repubs can too but most have jobs and lives

They finally called AK Senate for Dan Sullivan
He had 57% to the Dem's 37%. No good reason for it to take so long

This puts Rs up 50 to 48
Georgia pending
