I loved Marvin Zindler, and Dave Ward as well. One of the best parts of each news show was right after Marvin finished his over-the-top special interest segment and loudly shouted “MARVIN ZINDLER, EYEWITNESS NEWS!” Then the polished and reserved professional, Dave Ward, would glance over at Marvin, with a very slightly raised eyebrow, and calmly say in his deep voice: “Thank you Marvin”.

They were the odd couple of tv news. And very good friends.

Marvin was certainly "odd," to be way beyond kind.
 
Not us, but Tech QB Jett Duffey was supposed to be transferring to Tulane, but now it looks like Tulane wouldn't accept the Tech academics
 
I'm hoping we can close on those last 4 dudes and possibly toss in a couple of GTs at some need positions. If we get Collins, Umanemen, Rakestraw, and Ingram, that would be a pretty solid class to close with.

I think we can use some help in WR and LB, and possibly DE. This year might be the first one where we don't need any help on the oline from a grad transfer.

He never did that, merely pointed out unlawful activity. Most forget that before he went to work for channel 13. he was a deputy sheriff for a long time.

Marvin's family had a mens suit store near the Galleria. The La Grange whorehouse investigation Marvin did had some moralism to it, but finding health code violations in local restaurants ("SLIME IN THE ICE MACHINE!!!") seems to be more about public health than moralism. Likewise, the consumer rip-off alerts he would do weren't so much about anyone's "superior morals," but more about protecting poor suckers. There's one born every minute.

Overall, I saw Marvin like I see Mattress Mack, a colorful, over-the-top Houston character.

I'm usually positive in the off season, it's the regular season that makes me all negative. :smokin:

I'm not in a hurry to get our coaching staff in place, once we do, I'll have a better idea of where we can be next season. For now I like our choices of coordinators and feel good about our chances with how we close recruiting.
 
4-star CB Isaiah Dunson (Tucker, GA) says he is down to us and Ole Miss
We get his last OV on Jan 24
He has some family in Texas

In short, f**k this kid. And this isn’t me picking on a teenager because any 18-year old (hell, any 5-year old) knows that this is a POS thing to do. I don’t care how many stars he has, his pointless trolling garbage shows poor character.

Hope it works out for you as well as it did for Perriloux & Rouse (who are probably working at their hometown carwash) and to a lesser degree Bennett, who to be fair had a couple of decent years in the NFL career but underperformed by everyone’s standard. I’m really scratching my head as to whether what happened was coincidental or if there is common denominator among the 3?

While I wont pile on the kid, i will agree coming in "a close 2nd" is getting old. And this has been happening for several years now. Sort of like me with Salma Hayek. It doesnt help me one bit.

I meant all of that under the assumption he’d already signed with UGA. If not, I take it back but thought that was the case
