2020 Recruiting - Football

Darrell Royal changed our colors from Orange and White to Burnt Orange and White.... Herman is changing our hand sign from Hook 'Em to Screw 'Em !!!!!!!! LOL

Herman said he was joking around and laughing about his first experience at the RRR at the State Fair when the old OU lady gave the double bird to the Texas busses as they rolled up to the Cotton Bowl. If that is the case, it was unfortunate the camera caught the event.... at a bad time..... Still dumb of him to actually flip the bird knowing the media would be checking in at any time, but it is what it is.

How can you build depth when you only sign 16 players? All the blue bloods signed closer to 25. I'm guessing we have more coming between now and February?????

We'll need some late bloomers, some players from the transfer portal and a blue chip or 2 to sign to have a really solid 2020 class.

disappointing season and coaches changes lead to decommitments. it makes the class smaller. i don't want it, but it's just a reality.

we'll see how the new hires and the bowl game affect NSD2.

i'm sad we lost Quentin. Hope we can work on Princely. But that's about it really. Am I missing someone big?

Van Fillinger did end up at Utah
Josh Eaton did stick with ou
WR Johnny Wilson flipped from Oregon to Arizona State

Joe - Who are the 2-3 LB's that you think Coach Herman was referring to that they are recruiting that didn't sign today?

Something to think about.

Under Mack Brown, his best class he ever signed was his 2002 class, I think we got 5 5'star studs in that class. However only 1 of those 5 actually panned out as a player for Texas and we all know who that was. Actually when you look at that class of 28 only about 10 became impact players for us. Those 10 were the back bone to our 2006 National Title team.

Compare that to one of his worst classes, 2005 where he only signed 14 guys and it ended up being ranked 20th in the country. However out of those 14 guys, 9 became big time contributors to Texas and the back bone behind 2008 and 2009 teams.

We talk in awe about the 2002 recruiting class as well we should it got us a National Title, but we should be equally in awe of the 2005 class it got us to a national title game and our percentage of hits in that class were basically double the 2002 class.
