2020 Presidential Election: let the jockeying commence

Were any cases actually heard? I think they have almost all been dismissed based on standing or other technicality.

I think a few were. The few that were about small amounts of physical ballots. This is how they can claim that there was some fraud but nothing which would change the outcome. They only heard cases that wouldn't come close to changing the outcome. All the others they dismissed based on technicality or some made political reason.

Either way, it's really fuckin' stupid to risk control of the US Senate on this.

This is the most important part. Better to concede at this point and move on to what can be done. Then fight over the election rules for the next one. Existence of fraud at this point is irrelevant.

Fun Fact: Trump would have done even better in those places had actual votes been counted instead of calculated by an algorithm. Another Fun Fact: Several Dominion Voting Machines did not give the same number for the election, recount, and 2nd recount. How can that be?
I don't watch One America News so I only hear from sources that say that's untrue.

Where are the arsonists when we need them?

"Chaos and shouting in the Pennsylvania State Senate as the Republican majority refuses to swear in a Democratic senator and votes to remove Lt. Gov. John Fetterman (D-PA) from presiding over the session."

I thought the house gets one vote per state? Honest question.

That's what happens if no one gets a majority of the electoral vote. Biden has a majority of the electoral vote. Sustaining objections to electoral votes that have already been certified would require a majority in both houses. That's not gonna happen.

Right, :smh: I am talking about legal votes.

The thing they do not seem willing to accept is that, while Dominion has been used in their favor both here and around the world, it can also be used against them.
This fact alone should be reason alone for everyone to want to get rid of it
Dominion is both corrupt and corruptible

What was occurring here? The Republicans (who own the majority in the PA Senate) removed Lt. Gov Fetterman so they could avoid seating a Democrat Senator who won re-election by 67 votes. The PA Supreme Court ruled in the Democrat Senator's favor thus he officially won but the Republicans refuse to accept it. In other words, the PA Republicans are simply ignoring reality with no specific ends to a means other than to be trolls. Sound familiar?

I don't know what the rules in PA are, but at the federal level, this would be ok. The Constitution makes each house "each House shall be the judge of the elections, returns and qualifications of its own members." They can refuse to seat someone in elections they doubt, and that has happened. Nancy Pelosi considered doing it in the Iowa race this election.

The federal court action they brought is dumb though. It's not going anywhere.

I don't purport to know the rules of the PA Senate either. Based on the article, the PA Supreme Court has ruled, the PA Republican party doesn't like it. The federal suit will go nowhere as the Feds won't want to weigh in on a state matter. It looks petty by the Republicans given they are at the end of the road for fighting for the seat.

I guess it's one more time that a party can show contempt for voters' decision. It's brave to stand against democracy.

It appears as if electing a reality show faux businessman has cost the GOP the house, the Senate and the Oval office. Nice work.

But the Supreme Court isn't the end of the road. The body itself is, at least if it's like the federal level. I do agree that it's petty. I think the Lt. Guv's agreement was fair - provisionally sit the senator and then investigate further.

Electing liberal Democrats to control the House, the Senate, and the Oval Office may well cost us as a country. If the runoffs in Georgia both go to Democrats, there will be no reins on the leftist agenda. We just have to hope that the amount of damage they can do in the next two years will be limited.

Actually, just the opposite. We should hope that the Dems pass every bit of far left legislation they propose and totally f*ck up the country in their predictable slog toward socialism. Maybe in so doing, the ignorant masses will finally recognize the true nature of the modern Democrat party. Then will be the time to hope what's left of our liberties can be salvaged.

Most members of the ignorant mass (didn't finish high school, etc.) that I know are fanatical Trump supporters. Maybe because I'm from a small town.

Maybe you are just an elitist who looks down on Trump supporters and labels them as ignorant.

I'd say Biden CNN/MSNBC watching elitist academia types are the ignorant ones.

I think it unquestionable that Trump makes a compelling show. Problem is that the passions he arouses include passionate contempt. What he's putting Pence through...whether to be loyal and look insane or act sanely and appear disloyal.

But the passions of Obama supporters were laudable

I can't understand the Trump love, but some people I like and admire think highly of him.

Ignorant doesn't mean stupid or low educated. There are high school grads that are much wiser that people with a doctorates degree.
