2020 Presidential Election: let the jockeying commence

Unless I haven't been alive the last 4 years, its Hillary and the Dems who have been crying fraud for 4 years. Trump has been literally defending himself for 4 years.

What planet are you living on?
Seattle, apparently, where CHOP is a friendly and peaceful weekend festival. Lala land.

The planet where these tweets are real, right OUBubba? Trump has tweets for everything...on every side of an issue.

Actually the language used in Philadelphia suit was that board of elections should not count any ballots as long as Republican representatives are not present as required by state law.
Which would cover both of the instances I mentioned.

He needs to move on... I'm done with this election. I have not posted anything about voter fraud. I don't like how it "felt" and I don't necessarily trust the motives of those in charge of the polls but it is what it is... a damn close election and we should focus on how this country can somehow achieve a consensus on vital issues.

And as I like to remind: Anybody on the national debt? Anybody?

The instances you mention didn't occur, at least in the Trump Campaign legal arguments. Sure, the campaign has said that publicly but when when they have to put those claims in writing, stand in front of a judge and answer the Trump Campaign lawyer said "more than zero" when asked how many Republican poll watchers were monitoring. That's the point. Language matters. They WERE present albeit not close enough per the Trump campaign.

I'm all for the reducing the National Debt. As you can imagine, it leaves me a bit dismayed when this is only an issue for R's when they aren't holding the White House. We missed a golden opportunity to pay down the debt in the first few years of the Trump Admin.

I understand what you're saying.

What surplus of funds were you seeing that was available to pay down without anyone screaming it should be spent on other items?

That giant tax cut pushed us deeper into debt meaning that when the pandemic hit we were in an even worse position. Not that any politician would ever agree to this but I'd love a tax increase where 100% had to go towards paying down our debt. Alas, we as a society love to live on credit. Our government is no different.

I've always felt that's exactly what it would take (along with some sort of spending freeze). 100% earmark to the debt.

It would take something like that for people to truly appreciate what a government service costs. Only then would people hold their elected reps accountable for spending. I'm not saying all debt is bad nor all spending but being smarter with our collective tax dollars is wise.

We need tax cuts with massive reduction in government spending.

How does the saying go...."Wish in one hand, **** in the other. See which one gets filled first." You'll never get both up front. My method is to force people to pay for the government they claim they want then you can start the conversation about right-sizing every voters expectations.

You keep trying don't you?"The instances you mention didn't occur, at least in the Trump Campaign legal arguments. Sure, the campaign has said that publicly but when when they have to put those claims in writing, stand in front of a judge .

Read slowly if it helps
"Court: U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania
Case Name: Donald J. Trump for President Inc. v. Philadelphia County Board of Elections, 20-5533
Status: Judge denied request for an injunction, saying an agreement was reached
Summary: The Trump campaign filed an emergency request to stop the county Board of Elections “from continuing to count any ballots so long as Republican observers are not present as required by state law.

There it is in writing for you.
betting now you go off on another tangent. Any takers?

Here is is in writing for you...with a link.
Mr. Trump's own lawyers admitted there are representatives from the campaign in the convention center where ballots are being processed, according to CNN. During a hearing in a separate case filed in federal court, Jerome Marcus, a lawyer for the campaign, told Judge Paul Diamond "there's a non-zero number of people in the room."

Emphasis is mine.

Yes those are Trumps tweets. Then there's the millions of tweets and Op Eds and TV broadcasts of talking heads all losing their minds about how Trump has been illegitimate and Hillary should have won and it was all the Russians.

So again what planet have yall been on the last 4 years?

If you are in a baseball stadium, but viewing from the upper deck, you might be 'viewing' the game, but you damned sure are NOT in a position to properly observe balls and strikes.

THAT appears to be as proper an analogy as may be applied to Philly 'observers' as they were placed far enough back that even binoculars were of little use. In other words, Elections Officials in that locale deliberately sought to obstruct the view of the counting processes...

Just ignore Scissor Boy. Dude was too chicken to post on here before the election, now that the voting is (mostly) over, he comes out from under the covers, like someone too afraid his team will lose the game, but ready to wear a jersey after the final gun.

And while that isn't proof of fraud, its pretty damn suspicious and does nothing to alleviate the concerns of 10s of millions of people.

I once won a trial by having the other side's "expert" disqualified for something less than this. He missed the deadline to pay his dues and so his license was technically suspended (pro tip: that's something to always check). I waited until he was in the witness box to give him the news. Was very hard not to smile.

As I said above, this stuff is almost funny

From Her Cold Dead Hands!!!

Latest I read was, with races the Republicans are ahead in, could be a 222-213 D/R split. So a loss of 10-11 or so House seats - a stunning amount in what should have been a good year for the Democrats.

Republicans will only need to swap 5 seats in 2022 for control of the chamber.

Such a slim margin, with the specter of losing control of it next election, is going to make it hard for any Democrat leader, Speech Tearer Nancy or Otherwise, to ram the foolish stuff through, like expanding the SC to 57 seats, or the number of states to 63.

Wonder who they'd vote for if not her. My remembrance is that the entire D leadership team were all first elected in about 1960, so say the Majority Leader would be another fossil too.
