2019 Recruiting - Football

NFL types hitting the phones

“...have agreed to a deal in principal...” what does that mean? “Hey KK, we pay you enough money will you be our new HC?” KK, “Yeah.” Until it’s accepted by both sides, just means there’s talk, but no deal.

Georgia just offered Hornsby

This is pretty odd -- This player is not from Texas. Thats an aggy assistant with his fathead.

I often wonder how aggy ever gets any OOS kids. aggyville is such a weird place, their culture so peculiar. The shock has to be tremendous for anyone who did not grow up around them. As long as aggy stays aggy, which they seem determined to do, this will not change. It's pretty much Texas kids or bust.

Commit Marcus Washington won state

At the beginning of this recruiting season, Washington was considered a borderline 5-star WR. But he was injured going into the early camps. He participated eventhough not fully recovered and his numbers were as good as they would have been fully healthy. As a result, he was moved down in the rankings and never recovered.

I’m a true lifetime longhorn, and a native Austinite, but I did actually live in college station for 3 years in the 90s, and while I cheer against all things Aggie except meat judging, maybe, I do think it would be a good place to go to college. The Corps is not normative or typical. The kids are nice—nicer than UT students— and they are pulling from the same big city high schools that UT pulls from. Also, and you can probably appreciate this, you can go to College Station and be a conservative, or a Christian, and not be mocked or condescended to. Quite apart from sports, most Christians I know see A&M as far preferable to Baylor as a safe, gentle environment to send their kids to college.

I imagine every single one of us has been friends with at least one aggy in real life. Probably several. My best friend for many years when I was working in DC was one. As long as you are able to segregate one alone, isolate him/her from the rest of them, everything can be great. And, just as you say, they can be very nice folks, and all that.

In my experience, however, the problem occurs when you let two or more of them together at the same time and place. It doesnt take long for them to start going full aggy. They cant help themselves. It is a force out of their control. If it were my firm, the rule would be -- they can be hired but no two of them can be in the same department ever.

JUCO LB Caleb Johnson will OV to Oregon this weekend. Not only are they his childhood fav team, but they just had a 4-star LB de-commit yesterday.
Bad timing

Inside Texas is suggesting Johnson was not as hyped about his official to Oregon as they expected him to be.

There is an Oregon 247 report out, but just the standard commentary ("Nice facilities.....")

Also, no CBs yet for Caleb Johnson to Oregon

On McCoy, Kingsbury has not yet given USC an answer.
It would seemingly put them in an odd position if Coach Bro declines USC if they had already told the McCoys he was coming

Drew Mehringer will in-home with Bru early this week.

Coach Herman visited Noah Cain this weekend. Lose a huge game, get up the next morning and go recruiting. :hookem:

I think he watched the SEC game with the mom

Also, Cain bought his own ticket and went to the game (his mom lives in Dallas). We could not host since we were not the home team
