2019 Recruiting - Football

Looking at the WRs, if CJ and LJH leave for the NFL, which is possible, the only remaining scholarship WRs would be -- Duvernay, Eagles, Moore, Pouncey and Woodard.

That's why that "Texas is back" stuff is premature. The arrow is pointing up. But depth is still on the mend.

I think it's likely that CJ and LJH go pro. Both will go in the top three rounds at least. We will be hurting somewhat with experience but we will have good talent in Duvernay, Moore , and Eagles plus the incoming freshman. They will have to grow up quickly but it's a good opportunity for them. Yes it will be an area of weakness.

How have Moore, Pouncey, and Woodard been doing?

I think Eagles can be a difference maker.

Next year already looks exciting with both Jake and Whittington who will probably both play. Plus Houston and maybe 2 more -- including hopefully the 5-star McCoy (who can play WR or LB)
And then 2020 hopefully brings the Mookie.
Could you imagine 4-across in 2020 of McCoy-Mookie-JWhit-Jake

That would be absolutely awesome and let's not forget Eagles and the TEs. Certainly looks to me that coming soon we will have a dominating offense in the order of Bama. Bama's edge might be o-line but we are getting better there also. I would give an "A" for Herman and his staff in recruiting. Then also, we may very well have a 5star running back coming in- Sanders or Evans and we already have Ingram. Our arsenal is filling up with weapons! Yeah we will be an elite team when we play Bama in the reg season a few years from now or maybe in the playoffs sooner.

Even when they failed, their evaluations have still been mostly spot on (Moore/Waddle). The open issue IMO is still the OL and it just takes time for that to show. Plus, we changed primary recruiters there.

A de-commit by a 5-star RB that could have a ripple effect through all of RB recruiting at the top level. For example, for us it might put Noah Cain in play

Agree 150% they were spot on, just couldn’t quite land them. Each for different reasons you have to respect.

I don’t like it as we will probably be trying to tackle him in about 11 months.

Yep, LSU is not just better than everyone thought but a lot better.
I was even thinking we were going to get lucky and catch them at the perfect time, now it might be just the opposite :idk:

Quick thought do you know if Joe B has another year for them?
Never mind. Just looked it up. Joe can come back, and probably will.
This will be a tough game to win. Could and should have huge implications.

WR Marcus Washington to Texas

Herman's staff is attempting to lay the foundation for a Texas pipeline with this school, which seems to always have the most talent in the state. It's a smart move, just like mining Arizona and SoCal for top shelf talent and to fill holes in any in-state class.

Bryan Carrington was extremely involved in the recruitment of Washington. Carrington spent a ton of time with his family on their official visit and is a big reason the Longhorns were able to make a late surge.
