2019 Recruiting - Football

OT Stacey Wilkins of Camden Fairview, Ark will OV with us on USC weekend -- Sept 15. That is lining up to be a big weekend for us.
The comp for Wilkins is Piglet and LSU, as well as probably USC, Bama and ou

2019 WR target Elijah Higgins was in Austin and on campus for an UOV visit on Thursday.
He is supposed to come back on Friday June 8th.

I've noticed most Aggie commits both look and seem some kind of way...I'm not kidding...
Edit: I didn't have time to elaborate when I first stated this...and really don't now...but I'm convinced if you lined up all of our recent commits last few years and theirs you would actually "see"/sense a difference. Of course it wouldn't be a hard fast rule and there would be exceptions... But people look a certain way...and exude a certain vibe...and different types are swayed by different things. Obviously there is a vast difference between these two schools right now...probably more so than ever??... And you should expect players to be more attracted to one over the other.
I can't prove it...not even close...but something tells me we are getting the better quality people/players.
I rarely get upset when we lose to aggie...I just figure them to be aggies....and obviously not Longhorn material.

We're pulling in some really good guys, but it looks like it's going to be tough getting a Top5 class in the end. Right now, we're only likely to get 2 of the Top 15 players in Texas.

Offense:
  • We're set at QB with Roschon Johnson. 247 has him as the #5 dual threat QB right now.
  • RB seems to be feast or famine with Noah Cain, the #2 RB. Top RB in Texas is 100% CBd to LSU.
  • We've got 2 TEs with the arizona kid being a big sleeper ranking wise.
  • Tyler Johnson is a 5* at OT, but Kenyon Green going to aTm is a bummer. Javonne Shepherd is important for us imo.
  • I don't know what we're doing at OG at all.
  • Bragg at Center would be perfect and, while not committed, is looking really good for us.
So Cain, Shepherd, Bragg are our big targets left on offense? Is that right?

Defense:
  • On the Dline we have Tvondre Sweat. Lost on Leal. And have the 5* out of Hawaii. Is anyone else feeling us right now?
  • Floyd out of Cali is a great LB. Anyone else we have a good shot at?
  • I like Kenyatta Watson (from Ga.) at CB, but are we in on any other Top300 CBs besides Stingley who seems to be a LSU lock?
  • We're in good position with Catalon at S. What about Cine?
It just seems thin on defense unless we pull the Hawaiian and Stingley out of cajun country.

Are there other big names that we have a good shot at that I'm missing?

Losing Leal and Green (I know it's a long way to December) is a sign of a real fight going on. I figured Fisher would eventually kick in with the resume comparisons with Herman. OU is OU. Always a thorn especially with North Texas talent. We need some wins on the field but so does A&M. Something else is at play with them; there is the Aggy siren call that only certain people hear and that is something that is always a puzzle to me. The Aggy way is unique. It's not for everybody that's for sure.

We need lineman. Big time. Always.
