2019 Recruiting - Football

go to 247Texas for 2019 committs

As far as average star rankings go we are #3 only behind Georgia and Alabama. But we are #23 as of right now because of total points. Simple cause we only have 5 commitments. TCU is a head of us because they got seven 3 stars and one 4 star. We have four 4 stars and one 3 star. So we keep picking up 4 stars and sneak a 5 star in here and there we will again have a top 5 class back to back years. Maybe even a top 3 back to back years.

This class will be another 25 strong with about 15 to 17 in the ESPN top 300. Texas will have a very solid top 10 class.

Nana Osafa Mensah now sits at 53% ND 43% UT per 247 but will be on the 40 this weekend. This is a great opportunity to sway someone I believe would be a key get for the UTD...and that's not UT Dallas.

Has the complete visitor list been posted, Joe?

It sounds like he's already on the fence go either way. That bolds well for us if that's the case and he's not on campus yet. I'm officially declaring him a Horn on my Crystal ball right now. My Crystal ball has never been wrong yet.:hookem2:

Just watched GW on the news talking about going where he new what he was getting into and how tOSU has been a winner for years and blah, blah, blah...
First I wondered if he realized who constructed the last MNC that school won, who developed the offense and won it with his third string QB?

Then I remembered a young Texas RB recruit that said he chose Blow-U over the Horns because he wanted to win a MNC.
How did that work out AP?

We shall now find out if the curse is alive and well.

So hilarious that an Aggie poster has the SEC insignia as his avatar. Very telling. That would be like being involved in an activity where everyone else is represented by a photo of their wife or family and you post a picture of the governor.

I know I'm kind of repeating myself here, but I think its worth repeating.
I am trying to locate data to support this opinion, but it isn't as easy as I thought to gather up historical info on past incoming quarterback recruits to UT. For now, its just an opinion... though a somewhat educated one.
I personally believe that Roschon Johnson is the most significant QB recruit (and maybe any position) we have had since at least the beginning of the Mack era. I am solely talking about incoming here...prior to play. He would have to do something extraordinary to end up, in actuality, being that...but I am talking about walking in the door, timing, circumstances, ability, skillset, potential impact, and fit with current coaches goals.
I am tempted to add what would seem like pure hyperbole here...I won't.
But I do believe in the end what I would write wouldn't match what he has great potential to do when he gets settled in on the 40.
This is the most excited I've been for a single incoming recruit in years.
We'll see what this post looks like in 4-6 years...

Funny, I reread this before posting and my autocorrect spelled "recruits" in "quarterback recruits" as "re fruits".
...It seems autocorrect knows a thing or two about some of our recent QB history!

You may have stumbled upon a loophole to allow us to exceed the 85 man limit. We did not sign recruits. We harvested a basket of re fruits.

ps - dont share this bit of genius with anyone connected to the SEC

Another crystal ball to ND for Mensah. Interesting...and while he's on the 40.
Surely the fact that he attended a Catholic high school won't be the deciding factor.
LC, quick put in a call to someone and straighten this thing out! Can't you arrange to have him shown the rich Catholic heritage of the ATX?

It appears that the way we got back in the discussion with Leal was to get Giles some help, again

Jason Washington, his area recruiter and last year's Big 12 Recruiter of the Year, got more and more involved. On top of that, Texas Recruiting Director Bryan Carrington is only strengthening his relationship with Leal’s mother. The fact that Washington, who saw Leal last week, and Carrington are hard at work in this recruitment gives the Longhorns more than just a puncher’s chance.

We need to do something about that Giles weak recruiting link besides keep trying to patch it last minute.
