2018 Recruiting - WBB

Great to see that we are involved with Queen Egbo. She looks taller than Tina. So, a legit 6'3.

She recently had in-home visits with LSU, Arizona State. and UCLA.

So far, the unranked 3* Tatum has had home visits with ISU, OU, and TCU. I'm not so sure about ESPN's rankings sometimes.

Doesn’t have anything to do with Texas but Big 12 related and if she picks a Big 12 school, a player we will face. Kinda surprised at her cuts of UConn and ND so early. Still willing to consider schools from all over, except maybe the Big 10 footprint. # 6 overall and # 1 W in the 2018 class (ESPN), Aquira DeCosta has cut her list to 14.

Info from @Raoul_000 tweet today:

Aquira DeCosta has cut her list to 14: off the list: Arizona State, Alabama, Oregon State, UConn, ND & Maryland. Still under consideration:

USC, Louisville, S Carolina, Duke, Kentucky, LMU, Tenn, UCLA, Washington, Oregon, Cal, LSU, Baylor & OU.

I still want to see Tatum in burnt orange, regardless of how many stars ESPN gives her.
Will be interesting to see if our staff makes an in-home visit with Tatum. If they don't, there's a chance we are no longer recruiting her (or her interest in us is no longer up there for whatever reason).

Chasity's commitment for 2017 may have changed our recruiting needs for point guards in 2018. It's an unusual cycle where so many elite 2017 point guards in-state, but not many post players. For 2018, it's the opposite. When you consider that we might still be involved for 2017 guard Chennedy Carter, there's a real chance we take no guards in the 2018 class unless it's someone like Christyn Williams of Arkansas.

Hmm, who do we know that is from Windthorst? By the way, great to hear from Heather. She has done an awesome job at her HS alma mater. :hookem2:

Glad to see we are recruiting Tatum. Her recent in-home visits include Iowa State, Okie State, OU, UCLA, K-State, LSU, and Texas.

The "BIGS" are coming in 2018! Just you wait and see!!
The "bigs" are definitely the storyline for 2018. Hard to believe we at one time had verbal commitments from both Charli Collier and Sedona Prince. Currently being in Collier's top 12 and Sedona's top 6 is a good place to be. And, having recent in-home visits with NaLyssa Smith and Queen Egbo shows we are focused on post players for 2018.

Would love to know how our coaching staff ranks/prioritizes those four front court players. Personally, I'd take any 2 of them. Seems like Sedona is definitely slated for Center in college. Collier and NaLyssa could probably play both PF and Center; both have the ability to step out and knock down short jumpers. And, Queen, depending on the offense could also play both positions; but, she seems to be more of a back-to-the basket type player with not as much range as Smith and Collier.

Seems like Baylor will also be focusing on post players for 2018; Sedona Prince does not list them among her top 6, but, the other 3 recruits did have in-home visits with Baylor. They will have returning post players, seniors Kalani Brown and Beatrice Mompremier on the roster, along with junior, Lauren Cox.

We will have returning post players, seniors Jatarie White and Khalean Caron-Goudreau on our 2018 roster, along with junior, Joyner Holmes.

Schools from all over the country are wanting to sign these Texas post players, so it's not just Baylor with whom we are battling. But, all we can do is hope for the best.

scroll down that link and among the committed is Shae Routt committed to Texas. :hookem2:She is ranked #53 overall and the # 9 Wing.
