2018 Recruiting - WBB

In regards to continuing to recruit even after a commit, on the Texas softball thread people criticize Connie Clark for backing off a player the moment they publicly commit to another school. She says she's hated having that done to her (the continued recruiting). However, we criticize Connie for recruiting poorly the last few years. If the player doesn't want to have a coach keep recruiting them, then hand the phone over to the parents and let them put an end to it. I say keep going, until/unless they ask you to stop.

Coaches continue recruiting a player even after they have that same player's verbal. It's a nonstop process until the signature is on the LOI (and even after in some cases) and has to be a real grind at times.

Christyn Williams is scheduled to come on her official visit on Oct. 06.

Sporting events going on that weekend, besides WBB practice:

On 10/06: Volleyball vs TCU.
On 10/07: Football vs KSU.

Are we getting visits from Honesty Scott-Grayson and Jessika Carter?

They list Texas as a school of interest but have seven and six schools listed respectively with only five official visits permitted. Scott-Grayson has already visited Ole Miss and had a visit to Ohio State this past weekend, just in time to watch OU stifle the OSU FB team. No other visits scheduled as far as known. Carter has visited Miami and no other visits set up from her remaining five schools.

Looks like SC is in Christyn's top 5 and Baylor got the boot.

I'm impressed that Texas remains in her top 5. I should never underestimate Aston and her coaching staff with their recruiting prowess and relentlessness.

Actually, Baylor got axed several weeks ago. This time, it was Notre Dame. Believe she was headed to South Bend for an official visit next.

I could never determine if we were in line for an official visit from Jessika Carter or not; a moot point now as she chose Mississippi State. Perhaps this increases our chances with Queen Egbo as she is also considering MSU.

Bulldogs also have a verbal from Daphne White, 2018 6'5" post

I had a feeling we weren't pressing for Jessika Carter (based on scholly numbers) after our two most recent commitments:

well, it does say a Texas 2018. Have to worry until we find out whether or not they are actually talking about a Horn verbal.

The "Texas 2018" reference means a recruit from our state.

We could all be smiling pretty soon if what I was told on Monday night is accurate.

All pretty mind-boggling. I would be really surprised if Sedona decommitted from us, just based on some little things like snippets of TV interviews I have heard. Would be so disappointing, but we could power through it.

We got Charli Collier!

Oh my Gosh this is AMAZING news!!!!! Not sure where the Scholarships are coming from but I remember Coach Aston once said "the scholarship numbers will take care of themselves!" The numbers sure don't add up but I am sure KA and her staff know what they are doing. I sure hope Queen Egbo can get in the fold as well. I certainly see her as a Texas lean. This will be an unbelievable recruiting class!

Christyn Williams of Arkansas is currently scheduled to visit Texas officially on 10/6 and UConn on 10/13. Now that Charli Collier has set her official visit to Texas for 10/20, will be interesting to see if Christyn re-schedules her official to the week after her UConn visit.

Welcome Charli Collier! Come on Queen Egbo and Christyn Williams, you're next. Let's build this DYNASTY! :coolnana:
