2018 Recruiting - Football

Bush decided to visit Baylor

As of last night, we were still working on WR Tommy Bush to visit this weekend
He is supposed to go to Baylor
If he visits Austin, then we have will have a shot, as always

Bush is almost 6'5 and has run in the 4.4s and has a 36.4-inch vertical

I'm sorry but if I'm a D1 recruit I would hate all the constant attention by different coaches from universities always nagging me always calling me always trying to get me to commit to their team just always bothering me that would bug me to death. I wouldn't answer anyone associated with a university. They are all quality schools so I would probably go to the childhood favorite or closest or one that specializes in something. I would commit early and shut down recruiting.
I agree with this except I would still take all my visits just to get out and see some things but I’d tell my coach before hand not to worry I’m just enjoying the fiddles.

This is not how your commit is supposed to be acting:

That was from 5 days ago when Miami did an in home with him.
It is not ideal, but I don't blame an 18 year old being sure their decision is right for them.
As a UT fan, it would just be extremely sad to lose him.

Looks like they are meeting in the free apartment they have leased for him off campus if he commits. I've had a hard time grasping why Miami's recruiting is suddenly resurgent....
:idk:

I know they are just enjoying all the (potentially once in a lifetime) attention, but why do so few recruits recognize the harm to their future team that they do by waffling? Strong, committed classes only attract other strong players. Playing these games late in the recruiting process is @$*&.

With Coburn, I see it as a maturity and a character issue. Of course, these kids don’t have the benefit of the life experiences we on this board have, and many don’t have strong role models that can guide them.

I am concerned about Coburn’s character. This pursuit reminds me of the 5 star we lost to Aggie a few years ago. I think it was Daylon Mack.

Often this type of gamesmanship translates into a player who is more focused on himself than the team.

“I think” I hope we get Coburn but if we don’t, who knows, perhaps it will be a blessing in disguise.

Well said and great analogy.

Wish Texas was in a position to just withdraw the offer and move on but depth won't allow that. If he fails to live up to his commitment, it speaks well of his lack f character (not to judge, but much of that may fall on the atmosphere he was raised in)

What about all the comments recently by CB's etc that said we had nothing to be concerned about???

Hopefully, he will understand what commitment is about!!!!

Coburn appears to be a great talent and after Ingram maybe the most important recruit for the 2018 season. (DTs and running backs can make a big impact as true freshmen.) I sure hope he sticks with the Longhorns because I think Orlando's defense is the perfect place for his skills.

I'm generally ok with kids enjoying the process. Throwing up the U could just be getting caught up in the moment and having fun. I think that's a maturity thing, but nothing big.

I do hope he's communicating honestly with our coaches, whatever he's thinking. We may never know.

Just in case.....
Warren G - Regulate ft. Nate Dogg:

Play the song....lay back and close your eyes...and picture our coaches and staff doing work to ensure this class gets closed out successfully.

Regulators mount up - give me a break.
