2018 Recruiting - Football

If Anderson is as good advertised why is he passing on millions as a certain top 5 draft pick. Given the position he plays there is exactly zero chance he goes lower unless there's an off field issue. What am I missing?

I was thinking 2018 in the sense that this great coach could swing a few players his way. Not seeing it. You know, something you would expect for $75MM.
$90 million with the new excise tax. Also since excise tax follows the person for life, Fisher will be subject to the excise tax for as long as he is working plus the non-taxed portion of his pension.

Do you mean grad transfer Calvin Anderson?
In no way is he a top 5 pick in the NFL Draft

Perhaps you confused him with Connor Williams who is a likely 1st R pick?

Moore's last 5 CBs are to Texas

Brennan Eagles
Al'Vonte Woodard
Joshua Moore, and
Lawrence Keys III?

Not a bad group of WRs

Check out Keys' film

As of last night, we were still working on WR Tommy Bush to visit this weekend
He is supposed to go to Baylor
If he visits Austin, then we have will have a shot, as always

Bush is almost 6'5 and has run in the 4.4s and has a 36.4-inch vertical

I'm sorry but if I'm a D1 recruit I would hate all the constant attention by different coaches from universities always nagging me always calling me always trying to get me to commit to their team just always bothering me that would bug me to death. I wouldn't answer anyone associated with a university. They are all quality schools so I would probably go to the childhood favorite or closest or one that specializes in something. I would commit early and shut down recruiting.

That would be great, but unfortunately, it's not that simple. I'm sure it gets really old for some of these kids while some others just eat it up! A little bit of the recruiting game would go a long way for many of us. These decisions are very difficult for most of these 17 year old kids and they need the time to compare programs and determine which meets their needs / wants and can they fill the needs of the university. It could get pretty complex.

How would you commit if you don't answer the representative of the university.

Pompoms,

Some of these kids have never been outside the city or county except on a school bus. It is their first chance to see a totally different world. Then they must decide where they will be the most comfortable; where they fit in. Now, the electronic age has changed some of that.

I shall never forget a kid asking to meet me one on one. During that visit, he told me he was going to choose OU over Texas, with A&M a distant second. During the meeting, he reminded me that he had never had the money to take a girl on a date. He revealed information about his visit to Norman, then said, "please don't tell anyone I'm committing to OU, because I have a visit to Oklahoma State, and I hear they show you a really good time".

Can it be overwhelming? Absolutely. I am surprised more kids don't make a wrong choice. Then after making that choice, the kid has to deal with another head coach telling him, "We're going to kick your ******* ***" - yes, that is a direct quote.
