2018 Recruiting - Football

WR Lawrence Keys III made it out of his Notre Dame visit without committing. This is considered a small victory for us. He says his to Texas for next weekend is still on

Obviously going for more WRs. I think we're good, but I'm not the expert.

I'm hoping for 2 more DL (not counting Coburn) and 2 more OL transfers, maybe an OLB. Also I'll take Tanner if he wants.

WR Justin Watkins committed Florida. This was the guy who we had or thought we had at one time, a move which probably cost us Waddle.

WR Justin Watkins committed Florida

Something about that last name and University of Florida and us. At least this time it wasn't because we had a ******** coach escorting him back to Florida after his commitment to us.

Anybody have any idea whatever happened to that worthless coach? Maybe what middle school girls soccer team he's coaching?

Here is another of our current DE prospects - Michael Williams
This clip is set to FF to a play they let him run it (if it doesnt skip ahead automatically, go to 2:20:11)

Henry Melton is that you? Would love to close out the class getting Williams and Vernon Jackson, Ossai, Ojomo

247 says both WR Josh Moore and grad transfer OT Calvin Anderson stayed over on their UT visits until this am. Cant be a bad thing.

247 thinks we are the leader with Anderson. Supposedly he, Beck and Hand were seen having beers together at Cover 3 last night

A few more Okechukwu clips

247 is throwing a little water on the Okechukwu offer, saying it is not committable at this time. The suggestion is that is contingent on another player, possibly Williams. I dont know if they know what they are talking about or not.

Yeah i saw that... hope we have room for both if they want to be horns.

Apparently we are going to get a nice walk-on running back
They said he has turned down offers from Ivy League schools because he just wants to play for Texas

And a snippet from IT on the Anderson visit --

".... Upon arriving on campus Saturday, Anderson received the red carpet treatment with Westlake alums and current Horns, Breckyn Hager and Sam Ehlinger. Sticking the 6-foot-5, 305-pound left tackle with Hager and Ehlinger was pure genius, Tom.

After getting the full tour of the 40 Acres, he went out with the guys and coach's Herb Hand and Tim Beck to watch the NFL playoffs. Anderson speaks very highly of the new UT OL coach Hand. Then the coaches headed home and he got to enjoy the Austin life on Saturday and Sunday night.

Anderson has a bigger decision to make than he anticipated. Notre Dame, Michigan, Auburn, OU, TCU, Vanderbilt, Tennessee, and Louisville have all been by to see the graduate transfer in the last week. But after this weekend, it's safe to say Texas holds all the cards.

He was loved at Westlake. He played a huge role in helping the Westlake underclassmen. He was the hype man in practice. he pushed teammates, which included Hager, who he helped develop his pass rushing skills and how to be a great teammate. He was known as one of the most intelligent players in the game, on and off the field. He was a leader and still possesses those attributes.

Some in the program think he could be the left tackle this offense sorely needs to compete in the Big 12 next fall. With UT in great standing with Stanford grad transfer, Casey Tucker, and now Anderson, this offseason couldn't be off to a better start...."

Turning down offers, so that he can play for us as a walk on certainly says a lot about him. If that's true I wish him well. I hope his goals and dreams come true.

I loved Mike Williams highlights. He has great balance and quick feet. Nice speed, and can pass a little bit. I think some trick plays with him getting offensive touches are in the horns future.
Welcome Mike!! :hookem2:
