2017 Recruiting?

Several online sources saying Devodrick Johnson decommitted because of anm's chalk talk slideshow fiasco :lmao:
He's quoted as saying it wasn't because of his visit to Texas <nudge nudge wink wink> and also said his mom loves Texas

Per 247, E.J. Holland:

"Devodrick Johnson made one of the toughest decisions in recruiting.

The four-star athlete out of Dallas Kimball picked up the phone on Monday, called the Texas A&M staff and backed out of his verbal pledge less than a month after pulling the trigger.

“I’m decommitting because of the situation that happened with the women’s clinic,” Johnson said. “I’m just making sure I’m making the right decision. At the end of the day, I’m making a 40-year decision. It’s based on my whole life."

...and it's goodbye to a&am....

I've always thought that much is overblown about allowing transfers to go to a team that you play. Play calls are typically updated every game (or even every quarter if you're Oregon). Some DB would still need to understand what do physically do once the ball was snapped. This is why the Patriots didn't win every game or Super Bowl when they were cheating... you still need players who can perform, even if you know what's coming.

Can we take 18 this year? Not many seniors graduating, but I guess there is always a little attrition.

I always hate seeing players leave us. But now that we are getting 4 and 5 star recruits, those players are replacing players that won't ever see the field.

There are high level recruits who aren't committed elsewhere that I want.

Browning
Moses
Okudah
