Interesting side note from the 49-0 victory over Zero U. Not every Div 1 school played that Saturday (some had off days), but - of all the Div 1 teams that played a game that day, every team scored in their game except one!

Gib Dawson, Douglas AZ

Shown here with Byron Townsend vs. Purdue in September 1951, a 14-0 victory. Dawson accounted for all fourteen points that day along with 10 rushes for 39 yards.
He was all conference in 1951 and 1952 (a year where Texas had four All-SWC backs) and was the MVP of the College All-Star game vs. Detroit.
Dawson is the only Longhorn player ever to lead the team in five offensive categories (receiving, rushing, total offense, all-purpose yards and scoring) in the same season.
He was inducted into the Hall of honor in 1984.
