100 day countdown - 2022 version

#48 LB - Doug Shankle ... for Sat.

I just remember having to play out there because Little Rickie Perry appointed that guy from El Paso to the BOR. My date was not impressed with Roscoe's burgers; said it took over a week to get the grease smell of her hair.

Not to nitpick, but wouldn’t this photo of Roosevelt Leaks in a home game against Arkansas been from 1972 or 1974 instead of 1973. In those years we played Arkansas in Austin in even years (iconic photo of Jim Bertlesen running to a wide-open field in 1970) and at Arkansas in odd years (“Big Shootout” in 1969)

I am always somewhat confused by the count of days on this post. It seems to me that the Friday before the first Saturday game day is 1 day to kickoff or the start of the season. Game day Saturday would necessarily be “0”, i.e., there are no more days to count.
If a Friday is numbered “1” in the countdown, then Fridays are numbered 1, 8, 15, 22, 29, 36, 43, 50, 57, 64, 71, 78, 85, 92, 99. Thus, the 100 day countdown always starts on a Thursday as day 100.
Since today is a Thursday, the day before the Friday numbered 43, there must be 44 days until game day (time of kickoff on any Saturday is irrelevant), not 43 days, 8 hours and 52 minutes as I write this.
It is a very hot day in late July and I have to have something to do! I welcome information if I am mistaken.

Yes, I think that was the intent (set the end clock to be Saturday at midnight) so that Friday before game day will show 1 day, x hours before game time. I think @Dionysus may set the clock for 12 am Saturday (midnight Friday) instead of 12 am Sunday (midnight Saturday).

@mchammer Do I have the timing on this thing wrong again? :whiteflag:

I fight with this every year. My timer doo-dad on the home page calculates the days until 12:00 AM on 9/3 so it shows 99 today.

Is 12 am on 9/3 really midnight of 9/2? If so, it needs to be midnight of 9/3.
