Winter Storms, Summer Heat, and our 3rd World Electric System

Looks like electricity is currently "on sale" in Navarro County.
:tap:

They always show Montgomery county as ERCOT but Woodlands has a line to Entergy from the East.
Why can't we build emergency links with the National system to the East and just forbid them to be used absent the Governor's order in an electricity emergency. Or do we already have such links allowing the "importing" of electricity.

Well So it hasn' been built yet? March 03 25
The Department of Energy (DOE) announced Thursday that it would provide up to $360 million in public funding to construct a 320-mile line connecting the ERCOT grid to power grids in the southeastern U.S. According to the DOE, the line, called the Southern Spirit, will be used to "enhance reliability and prevent outages" during potentially catastrophic weather.

What they are doing is building a Direct Current line from Louisiana/Mississippi to Texas. That does not trigger joining the National Grid.

Is there ONE National grid? What is it called?
Or many regional grids?
There's at least 3. (1) Texas, (2) E. of the Mississippi and surrounding areas, and (3) Most of the West. El Paso is tied to the Western grid, and parts of far East Texas are tied to the Eastern grid. There may be some other grids.

Moisture coming up off the Gulf of America could increase winter precipitation around Houston.
I found it odd that salt water would become snow but Angleton DID get almost a foot in the past 15 or 20 years. I remember talking to a Board Office that day but don't recall which firm I was with for that call...
