where is greggo?

ttt, anybody know if he's really coming back on the air? I assume his non-compete has ended by now?

I would think a programming director would take a chance on Greg, and do it ASAP.

I DON'T see why a programming director would rush to sign Greggo to a deal.

He was perfectly suited for his role on the Ticket. On a more sports-intensive program, he will be forced to rely on his sports takes, which are terrible.

Whenever the Hard Line did NFL Boulevard, I was always astounded by how stupid some of Greggo's comments were.

I was trying to imagine a show made up entirely of Ticket talent that has been fired. You'd have Dick Hunter producing, Expo as engineer/Board Op, and Doogie or Rocco as co-host (or Chris Arnold?).

I don't think it would work.

I don't think Chris Arnold was fired.

On the other hand, you could use Chuck Cooperstein, fired in one of the great programming blunders of all time, and pair him with his replacement, Rocco Pendola.

HE'S BAAAACK!

Anyone else hear Greggo chatting with Randy Galloway yesterday afternoon? He's going over to 103.3 and doing the 7-10p show. Be interesting to see how he likes his new gig.

I heard it. He says he realizes this is his last chance. We will see.

In addition to the nightly 7 to 10 show he will be doing the Cowboy post-game shows.

Somewhat OT, but I was switching through the channels the other day, and ran across none other than the Ben & Skin show on 105.3.

When/how did this happen? Did they get tired of being a "fill in"?

Ben and Skin got full time gigs at 105.3. They knew their only chance at the ticket is if a show's contract wasn't renewed, and that is not going to happen. So they took the opportunity at 105.3. I haven't heard them on there yet, but I'm sure they are just as good as they were on the ticket

Rico:

Oops -- didn't see your reply until now.
The programming director (don't recall his name) thought that Coop was too hard-core sports for the station, and simply fired him. Story is that Dan Bennett, the station manager, didn't want to override the progamming director, and acquiesced. The director had lined up the great Rocco to replace him.
The program director was fired at some point.

I turned back over to 105.3 today, and it looks like the show is on mid-days from 10-3.

They were doing a lot of the old bits, but I didn't hear any sports talk (not that they did much anyway).

I'll miss them on saturdays...

I had the distinct displeasure of tuning in to the mix between Dale Hansen and Greggo at 7:00pm on ESPN 103.3 today. The blowhard and the power-down. Awful.

I regard Hansen, along with Skip Bayless and Jim Rome, as one of my mortal sports enemies, whom I would challenge to a duel on sight.

I listened to part of Greggo's new show with Matt Mosley last night. It's not working. It turns out that Rhyner was a necessary component to keeping Greggo from sticking to idiotic opinions.

Mosley made a point, a good one. Greggo disagreed, but rather than offer up any data or arguments to support his position, he just kept repeating, "Nope. No, it wasn't like that."

There were a few awkward silences as Mosley and the other guy (Estridge?) laid out on him. There was no chemistry or hint of mutual regard.

I don't think it will last very long.

Nah but it sucks now. They had something with the fat hairy greggo but it went down hill when he shaved, got the thumb stomach and coke habit. And now it is just boring.
