Where do Rights originate?

NetSlave, if you can't chose a path that God didn't already know you would take before the world was born, then all other paths are illusory and only the dark line (God's path) is in fact the only path. You can't sit down and say "I'm not following the path" because that is the path God knew you would take before the creation of the world.

Either there is no will but God's or you have free will, but one denies the other.

I'm saying if there is a highlighted path (God's path), then all other paths are an illusion which can not be realized. The concept of "No will but God's" denies the concept of free will explicitly.

Personally, I don't believe in 'the judgement', as I believe the concept of a vengeful God is something which could only be man made. Its a poor workman who blames his tools, and an infallible God punishing his creation is inherently illogical to me.... whether there is free will or not.

Nothing in this life is absolute or guaranteed, and you don't need me to tell you that, SWHorn. There are no guaranteed rights, except to death (as another poster said).

Net Slave, you seem to be an intelligent, sincere person. I believe you are really trying to understand what MIA and (less effectively) I are saying. Your failure to grasp our point may mean that the logic is lacking. It may also mean that the consequence of abandoning free will in the presence of an omniscient god is too threatening for you to tolerate.

It doesn't really matter. Your faith is buttressed by your logic. Good luck and may your God bless you.

Now for the next question, is God powerful enough to create a rock too heavy even for Him to lift?
