What Says 'Austin' to You?

Main Building at Saint Edward's.
The Disch
Hill Country Views on 360.
Catfish Parlor
Aquafest
Austin Pizza Garden in Oak Hill
Rex Kitchen Fields (Manchaca Optimist)
Waterloo Records
Peter Pan Putt Putt Golf
Butler Pitch n Putt

Looks like you have a good list already.

Does the Nutty Brown Cafe count as Austin?

The PoodleDog is definitely part of old Austin, as is Deep Eddy/Deep Eddy Cabaret.

I think some of the most photogenic, and easily recognizable parts of Austin (for Texas-exes) are the eaves of some of the buildings on the south and west of the tower. The best are on the architecture building (Sutton Hall?).

Or course, Genie car wash has a cool sign IMO - might have already been mentioned, but I didn't see it.

Barton Springs swimmers including the dogs below the dam. House Park(preferably with a football game going on), Eeyore's Birthday, joggers around Townlake, the train at Zilker, kids' soccer games at Zilker, kites at Zilker, Top Notch burgers, views off the upper deck of 35, live music shots including some at one of the big festivals, Laguna Gloria, Hamilton Pool, Mrs. Johnson's Donuts, the Wildflower Center, symphony square. Softball games on the fields off Toomey, Zachary Scott theater, Thundercloud(the sandwich makers in particular), Most of the rest are gone now.

The Terminex bug had to come down due to maintenance issues, I believe, and was donated to Threadgill's where there is a collection of historic old Austin business signs on display (Barton Springs location). I haven't seen the bug there, anyone know if it is being displayed?
How about Green Pastures Restaurant, in business for the past 63 years? What about Fonda San Miguel?

1. Deep Eddy (as a kid I loved sliding over the wall from the shallow to the deep ends and freezing in that cold *** water).

2. Littlefield Fountian

I had a completely Austin moment today.

I rode my bicycle down to Town Lake and the around the hike and bike trails. There was this mass of people all carrying portable chairs and coolers at one point on the trail and I thought "hmmm .... what's up with this?" Then I realized that it's Wednesday and they must be doing Blues on the Green tonight. I wondered who the artist would be.

I crossed over Barton Creek and headed back east. All of the sudden I noticed that there was an 8-man scull out on the lake and they were moving in the same direction as me at the same speed as I was. So I rode beside them for a few hundred yards. It was cool, seeing them out there working in unison in the late evening sunlight. All of the sudden, Blues on the Green started up from across the lake and I could tell immediately that it was Marcia Ball.

So it's raging hot, I'm riding along, the endorphines are flowing through me, the breeze is blowing by me, the scull is out there moving alongside me, and Marcia Ball is singing about Red Beans and Rice from across the lake.

It may have been the best moment I've had all year.

I will give you all the benefit of the doubt and hope it was just a small oversight............G&M Steakhouse.....I'll have a cheeseburger, hold the cheese, and an order of Abuse!
