What Says 'Austin' to You?

"Welcome To Austin" postcard @ Annie & South 1st, Stubb's, Driskill, alleys around 6th st, Lady Bird Lake, Botanical Gardens, Zilker, Barton Springs, Leslie's ***, Casino El Camino, Chicon St., Moon Towers, Antone's, Gingerman.

So what I remember about Austin are things that likely aren't around anymore, but if they are, they might be worth a pic or two:

The egg roll stand on the drag in front of the Co-op;
Jorge's (I think there is still one left over by the Hancock Center);
Is the Terminix bug still over there on Lamar? I loved that...
Dobie Mall--that always seems to stick out on the drag;
the Intramural fields;
Disch-Faulk Field;
Hula Hut;
and all the others that people have already contributed.

Let me save you some film. You're welcome.

Showdown Saloon before it closes as well...

dude, is showdown closing?

Take a picture of the lion statue at Lion's Municipal G.C. on Enfield Rd.

If you're trying to make a photo of Austin stuff, many people will understand the lion photo..

Almost everything else has been mentioned, so that's all I have; other than to say -- take pictures of Lake Travis.

a 15 story "mixed use" condo complex.

seriously though, maybe you do an entire array of all the places mentioned on here that are gone/about to be. jsut photograph the locations with whatever is currently there.

that would really be interesting and different.

a savage pizza from Conan's.

Bean's Restaurant (my wife and I loved the 2 for 1 CFS on Tuesday's. ($5) That and a $1 movie was our standing date night while at UT). No longer there.

The Tavern on Lamar

Since kids, The Spaghetti Warehouse. (they still love it)

Any view of the Tower, especially at night. Bellls ringing

Gackels (sp?) on campus.

I don't think anyone mentioned "The Continental Club" on Congress. This is where a lot of famous musicians have played, and home of the famous "Tony Price Night", a can't miss for years. Also, the Austin Motel across the street from there, the longest standing Hotel/Motel in Austin.
