What if it was not the Russians?

Husker,

Want to apologize for spreading a myth?

NEW: Mueller backs off his earlier assent to a congressman's statement that he didn't charge Trump with a crime "because of the OLC opinion."

Mueller seems very ineffectual. I always thought of him as an imposing figure before. What a disappointment. I listened to the beginning of his testimony and he sounded like a scared old man, with a quivering voice.
I listened to most of both sessions on the radio. I could not help but think the same thing. Either Mueller has lost it mentally (memory) etc or he was just a figurehead. Frequently, he seemed to not even know what was in a report he supposedly wrote. I kept waiting for someone to ask, "did you even participate in writing this report?"

Someone asked if he wrote the report ON the report (the statement he made to congress, I believe), and he gave a non-answer answer that no, he did not.

Exhibit A why Mueller is a coward and a bully. He hides behind the power of the federal government and allows this horse **** to happen:

Remember how honest and above-board and beyond-corruption they told us Mueller (and Comey, for that matter) were? Oh those guys are law-and-order and not political at all. More lies from the MSM.

Volume II of the report was a political document, not a legal one. Shame on them.

" I kept waiting for someone to ask, "did you even participate in writing this report?" "
I was surprised that the Repubs did not call Mueller out for his imcompetence. Maybe they were embarrassed for him
Shame on the Dems for trotting that sad man out there.

Why do people feel sorry for Mueller? He took the job. He's a big boy. I don't get it. He's as old as Trump. Does anyone feel sorry for Trump when lambasted by Dems and asked tough questions by the media?

Regardless of anything and everything. Is the purpose of a special prosecutor to remove politics from the investigation? And if so, hasn't this purpose now been destroy by the re-insertion of the DNC bent on impeaching regardless of whether or not there was a high crime or misdemeanor committed? Is this not the fear? JUDGEMENT being used against the other party instead of the Constitution?

How can anyone take it seriously? Do you need to be mentally ill to believe Nadler is balanced and doing it for America?

Yes and no. His job is to overcome the inherent bias and conflicts of interest that go with the Attorney General investigating his own boss. In that sense, his purpose is to remove politics. However, he is still a prosecutor, which means his role is adversarial to the person(s) under investigation. Furthermore, he wants his prosecution to be successful, because it makes him look good, and that's not a rip on Mueller at all. It makes him like pretty much every other prosecutor.

This is a separate matter. Impeachment is a political question, not a legal question, even if the process is structured somewhat similarly to a legal proceeding.

The WE article lost me when it said Trump is not for free trade.:brickwall:
He is all for free trade. Free FAIR trade.
Maybe LH did not read the article just the headline?

Tariffs aren't free trade. It restricts trade and it is hurting US farmers and now Wine companies.

It is fine to work for better deals but Trump's sensibilities veer into Mercantilism often.
