What are you listening to?

Not all but some very good songs on the list…

4 of my favorite Byrd's tunes - Roger McGuinns' 12 string Rickenbacker guitar just rocks me every time !!!

Not much DAC has written or sings that isn't. Haven't seen him perform in some time, but he used to have an encore of nothing but rock n roll. The guy is one helluva musician.

I happen to be in Village Inn Pizza Parlor the night this song was written about. "Loudmouth in the Corner" was carried out by ambulance to try to reattach a couple of his fingers. DAC never stopped singing during the altercation.

He's a lot like Bocephus & Mark Chestnut in that you never know what you'll get. See if you like some of his ballads like "Would You Lay With Me In A Field of Stone" or "Judy Like A Melody".

Now that it's March and the weather is getting balmy, I pulled this one down from my favorite (late) cowboy singer from the Northern Ranges (where it surely ain't Springtime just yet...):

LC,

I missed that list first time through. Gotta say there is not one song on that list that I couldn't go the rest of my life without hearing, although I went through the 70s without hearing most of them. Can't remember much of the late 70s music except I think "Bat Outa Hell" came out in 77.

That list of tunes from March 1977 bring back a LOT of pleasant memories. Where I was, what I was doing, who I was dating, who I SHOULD have been dating, etc. Anyway, relatively carefree Senior college days.... however, similar to Sabre, there are only a few of those songs I still enjoy hearing on the XM oldies stations.

Got London weather in DFW today - dreary gray sky, rain, cool but not cold... feeling a bit nostalgic for some CSN&Y. Here is what I'm listening to and going back in time to HS days:

The Deja Vu album released in February or March 1970 is iconic - 54 years ago. World wide sales 8 MM.

^^^ I liked Scotch artist Al Stewart and bought 8 track tapes of his albums. On the Border and Time Passages were also big hits for him.

Every time an Al Stewart song appears on the oldies SAT station it gives me a mellow feeling. What beautiful relaxing music. He was a strange character, but incredibly talented musician.

Today. Take a listen....

Wife and I have seen him in concert many times since the 1980's. Saw him last fall at the Majestic Theatre in Dallas. It was different, strictly solo and a lot of new stuff.

This particular PM CD always reminds me of driving in and around San Antonio and the Hill Country years ago when it was released. Fredericksburg, Hunt, Kerrville, etc. Gawd I love that part of Texas and dreamed to retire to that area one day.....

Fascinating stuff for St Patrick's Day. The Chieftains exploring Irish folk roots in the melodies of classic C&W and American folk western music while collaborating with some pretty well known American artists.
