That’s the chain with no weak links. And that sort of philosophy gets a lot of men on base and scores a lot of runs.
The pitcher was 9th. Cesar Geronimo was .257, .327 OBP, 6 HRs. 148 games played. That’s one of the iconic teams in MLB history.
Our worst 2 are likely more productive than those 2 for the 1975 Big Red Machine.
