We'll miss you, Loree

Loree added life, humor and wisdom to this board. Her many observations about life's experiences were always interesting to read. I never met her, but I felt like I knew her as she shared the positive and negative details of her life. Her posts had a genuine quality that were insightful and never mean spirited. She will be greatly missed. Prayers to her family.

God, this is so tragic. Prayers for her family.

I was able to meet her once and she was very funny. She will be missed.

What an absolute shock.

I never met her, either, but, like everyone else, felt like I knew her from all of her posts.

She will be sorely missed.

I always loved reading her level headed posts on Quacks and 3:16 and valued her opinion very highly. God bless her friends and family through this difficult time.

RIP Loree, you will be missed

This just hit me like a ton of bricks...

I don't think I had ever met Melanie/Loree, but I certainly knew her thru her posts and was always impressed by her ability to hold her own in some of these threads. In fact, I often clicked on her name and checked her profile, just to try to get a better sense of who this strong woman was.

Loree always had my respect.

She now has my sincerest prayer for peace.

there are several pretty recent threads by Loree spread over the first 3 pages of Quacks I just read though again. Sad

One of my favorite posters on here. I always had to stop and read what she had written. I hope her children have the support to cope with this tragic loss.

I too had never met Melanie in person. Had exchanged some pms with her back when I was going through my divorce and she always had a way of lifting my spirit. Her insightfulness was a wonderful quality.
The many eloquent posters on this board have detailed all of this wonderful woman's attributes already and I certainly echo those thoughts as well.
I too have never felt a sense of loss like this from someone I had never met in person and it is tough to make sense of all the emotions that I and others are feeling right now. I guess the one thing that comes to mind here is that all of us are real people behind these handles. Real people with real emotions. From seeing the things that Melanie posted on this board, I believe that if we were to all somehow become more sensitive to each other and care a littl e more deeply for each other in her memory, she will smile down on us from her heavenly perch.
Lets make Melanie smile forever by living our lives a little better than we have before.
I pray that God himself will wrap his loving arms around Melanie for eternity.

Count me as another who is shocked and saddened over the loss of someone I never even met, yet feel I know from the many posts on this BBS. It is especially heartbreaking after reading her posts about her son's transfer dilemma.

After reading this thread, my wife and I just had a conversation about how much the Internet can mean to people - it's crazy that a network of computers can mean so much. It's responsible for my job (I work in online news), my wife and I met via match.com, and we both have our forums we visit regularly where we talk about all kinds of subjects with people who we get to know just via their posts.

I feel better for having known Loree just through her insights on this board. I hope her pain has vanished, though it's tough for those of us who appreciated her presence around here.

Like a lot of other people on this thread, I've never met Loree beyond reading her posts here. I don't even think she and I have exchanged words in a thread, let alone PMs. She was a complete and total stranger to me beyond knowing her username (I've never even looked up her profile).

But this is very sad news to me. She was always one of those posters that, although she posted frequently, had something to add to every thread. She was a very insightful poster.

It's strange sometimes how we effect people without even knowing it. I will always remember her and it's obvious that she will be sorely missed.
