Week 9 Prediction Thread: Texas vs. Kansas St...There's No Place Like Home.

I hope I am wrong but I see at least three more losses to include this one and TCU.
45-31 Cats.

All of you who predicted ksu to win have reasonable arguments for your picks.

That being said
Horns 31
Cats. 27

Rainy, night game with an inexperienced quarterback. And the officials have a disincentive to remain unbiased since we are leaving. 31-28 KSU.

I had bad feeling about Okie State, don't have any feeling at all about this one, so hey let's party like its 2002

Texas 17
KSU 14

Early line is Horns + 1.5 O/U 59.5
Where did you see THOSE numbers?

Vegas is currently listing (as of a few moments ago) Texas -2.5 and an O/U of 54 at almost every major book. When the Circa opening line came out yesterday, the game was a PICK and an O/U at 58.5 but quickly went to Texas -2.

This tells me there is some manner of injury out there or the weather is expected to be really crappy (in which case, Texas has the better ground and pound potential).

Yeah...Im seeing -3 Texas.
VERY interesting under the circumstances.

MB, I have it in my mind that vegas is more and more using fpi type metrics to inform, to a degree, their #s these days. Do you know anything about this?
Because we know, if true, then that helps explain why vegas has generally liked Texas this year.

Covers on Sunday/late

That had to be a typo...I don't think Covers actually runs a sports book though, which would also mean they have no consequence for such errors.
They are on Vegas dot com. When you don't see any odds showing, just look up to the covers tab and it will show the early lines.

Our secondary is hurting, with Cook out and Thompson banged up and perhaps out as well. Watts will play but he’s probably not 100%. If they pass like they did last Saturday, it will be a big challenge because the backups are young and inexperienced.

Very rarely do I never have lines available...but then again, it helps to be tied in with the director of sports book operations at a favorite casino ;)

KSU 46
Horns 29

Horns gotta show me something in the second half of a game, when playing on the road.

We are 1-6 on the road now which means we may stand to lose one or both of our last two road games vs. KSU and KU. The team seems disinterested in the second half against inferior opponents.

Our secondary is 92nd in the country, KSU QB looks like a young version of Aaron Rogers when the game is on the line. Until Texas changes this narrative with MORE than one game, I don't see it changing. Sark has got to get the secondary playing ball and pressure the QB. If we play a complete game, KSU would get run out of the stadium, but as it stands........

KSU 48
Texas 35
