UT vs Washington Preview

Just read more posts on X, again no idea if factual, but word is rule states "next regular season game".

Will be without Derek Williams for 1st half. He was figuring it out and getting better with each game. Can Catalon finally make some plays?
Inside Texas Football on one of their YouTube videos today addressed this and Gerry Hamilton said that Texas can choose to have this suspension carryover to next season. This is of course if the appeal gets shot down.

Watching the evening edition right now and Gerry reread the rules and believes that he might be out the first half of the Washington game.

(While TVZ was not so well known outside the Austin area, I think we actually come out on top...)

"Their receivers are just so good at finding space and exploiting space..."

Exceptional route-running: "It's amazing how open these receivers are, using standard concepts..."

Very good use of the TEs.

Penix throws a good deep ball and their big receivers go up and get it.

Play only a single high safety against UW at your peril. (you will regret it)

Their OL isn't so good at run blocking, but they are adept at picking up the blitz.

They just don't care about the running game. This is like Mike Leach at Texas Tech with the use of TEs added into the mix.

Our safeties will have their moment in the sun to step up and shine on the biggest stage in the Nation. This is why they came to UT instead of settling for UH, Baylor, Okla State, etc.

We are Mucher DOOOOMED!

I'll say this: I think we match up with Washington much worse than we do against Michigan or Alabama. I do think we can win if we get pressure on Penix and establish a consistent run game.

All that being said, if we lose, I will be all-in for Washington to win it all. I've always respected the program, and believe they often get hosed as they are sometimes overlooked by East Coast bias, as well as overdone attention on USC and Oregon. Their fans were great in San Antonio last year as well. Unlike so many other programs, there seems to be little to dislike.

I look forward to an interesting, fun, and competitive matchup.

Exactly.
We will have our hands full with their receivers. I think ounce, whatever his name is, will go higher in the draft than Worthy or Mitchell. He is a playmaker that Penix goes to often. Again our secondary will be thoroughly tested.

Honestly this final four is a pretty damn good academic Who's Who, minus Bama.
My UT degree is in Chemical Engineering. I have had actually pretty good experiences with a couple of Alabama ChemE's. Michigan and Washington engineering colleges are top notch. Not as good as UT's Engineering College, but damn good nevertheless.
Our area is getting an influx of skilled labor from Alabama. By and large they are good folks and not obnoxious about Bama.

We’ve had good chemical engineers from Bama and Auburn. Auburn is noted to have the better program.

I wonder what he thinks of Coach K’s 3 man-rush?
you would think that with only 3 rushers we would have extra players in the secondary to COVER RECEIVERS TIGHTLY. But maybe there is some secret nuance that I am not aware of that allows for open receivers and YAC in these situations. Can anyone help a brotha out?
